Check this site out. www.backcountrycocktails.com I met the guy hiking the Franconia Ridge loop, he ended up re arranging his whole plan to help us down. Probably one of the most creative guys i've met from some of the drink recipes he's come up with. Definitely worth the 10 bucks, good campfire topic too.

- By the way, if you do end up sending for the book, tell him the guy who sprained his ankle on the Franconia Ridge Loop told you about it. He'll have a laugh.

I went hiking on my birthday a few weeks ago, sadly a solo hike after tryin' like hell to get my rowdy friends go to with me. I took a fifth of Crown Royal in a Platypus bag. Got totally ripped. Man, that was a major death march the next morning ... dehydrated and hung over the first 1/2 of the day. At least I "left no trace" at the campsite if you know what I mean ...

Oh, one should NOT play with an alcohol stove when drunk. Another "lesson learned", but when your decision making is impaired and you are alone, who is going to stop you?

Is two drunks worse than just one? I dunno...

I'm quite fond of the Smeirnoff Raspberry Twist Vodka and 7 Up.

Cocktails are for people who do not like alcohol.

I'm hoping to get me a bottle of Glinlevet and a flask before the big Smokies trip this month.

What I like when it comes to Spirits in the woods
A citrus vodka and peach schnapps blend. AKA Fatboy Tranquilizer. Drink enough of it and the sunsets and sunrises kinda merge together with just a hint of darkness in between.

I hae some great homemade blackberry brandy....well blackberries in moonshine that would go well in the woods.

Well this book isn't just telling you to throw an ounze of vodka with some 7up, it's full of recipes of drinks that will completely dazzle anyone on the trail. It's more of a fun little thing, but stll very impressive ideas.

I wanted to take Everclear on my last hike because it was dual use. I could drink it or burn it in my stove. Thing is I am betting that would mean cold means after the second night.

There's nothing quite like ethanol disguised as fruit juice, is there?
