Great flick about the emporer penguins of Antarctica. Even if you are familiar with their lifestyle, it is worth seeing. Fantastic cinematography.

Kids were walking out of the theater waddling and squawking like penguins.

... might be a good place to pick up chicks.

People pick up on what I'm puttin' down now!
Down in any Laundromat in town now!
When they're washing you can hear the sound now!

Hey, if the theatre goons didn't cause a fuss at Pee Wee's Big Adventure, I guess you're home free, LOL

Maybe I'll take the kiddo to an early show this week. Looks like a good one. Thanks for the review Geo.

Depending on how old the little one is, be prepared for a little waddling and squawking. It has that effect on kids.

My mom said she heard that little kids can wind up in tears from this movie. Anyone heard that?

There are points where the egg freezes, or chicks die, or predators arrive on the scene. Sad, yes, but part of nature. There are also funny scenes, and very poignant scenes.

No tearful outbreaks in the theater when I saw it, and as I say, the kids were waddling and squawking as they went out into the night, having a good time.

I would only add that emotions being aroused is a tribute to the strength of the production. But things balance out. It is more an affirmation of life than a sad story.

Probably alot like "Winged Migration". I get so pissed off when the babies get eatten! But, it is part of nature. I always cheer for the predator and marvel at what a great lunch he had and how full his tummy must be now. Abby never sheds a tear, just comments about how he won't be hungry for a whole day!

I heard mixed reviews about taking kids before I went, so I was surprised at how mild it was. My grandkids see worse on Animal Planet and other nature shows.
Not to mention TV in general.

Indeed, I was informed that the filmist is the same one who filmed "Winged Migration."

Excellent flick.
These penguins are DAMN tough!!!
Could you sit on an egg for 60 DAYS in an AnArctic winter???

Quality of film is only fair at best.

Content, however, is stellar!

saw it with the wife and kdis on Friday.

It was pretty good.

The anthropomorhpisisiham was a little over the top . ..but a beautifully filmed movie nonetheless.

I saw this flick a couple daze ago. Those penguins are amazing creatures. And they can go months at a time without pizza, even after waddling 70+ miles in a tuxedo. Even AFTER having sex. Truly amazing.

I went with my wife on opening night. She has spent 2 winters at the South Pole. After the film all she wants to do now is go back. Incredibly interesting place, but a little cold for me.
