If you didn't have a double standard, it wouldn't have occured to you to say it's ok for her to be an ass to me, unless you're just being an ass for no logical reason, in which case I stand corrected.”

“sarge, I think you need to realize a few things. Quite a few people on TT know Sass and Birch. I know personally what good people they are. I have stayed at the home before and have been treated with the utmost respect. Sass whether you like it or not doesn't have a hateful bone in her body. Birch is one of the most likeable people on TT. Both will speak their mind on topics like most people do but that doesn't translate into hate.

You on the other hand have not met anyone that I am aware of. All anyone has to judge you buy is what you post on here. You do turn on people and the first thing out of your mouth is how hateful or Non-Christian they are. You do not follow what you preach. You can be just as hateful and non-christian as the next person on here. Problem is it drops but you keep dragging it on and on whether on this thread or referring to it on another thread.

You might do some good by meeting some fellow TT'ers in person so they can see what you are like off the board.

I don't imagine you are like this when not you're not on here. I am not sure why topics on here seem to bring out the worst in you (or so it seems).

I meet TTers in person. I develop friendships and relationships with them. I observe their actions and character in person and I observe their actions and personality on threads. I form opinions as a result. Therefore, I tend to give more credence to someone I know and admire than to someone about whom I have almost no knowledge. If a new or unknown person demonstrates traits which I find to be objectionable, I will place less trust in them than in others, thus a double standard if you will. I guess that's life.

The ironic thing is that there are actually some topics about which I agree with Sarge. But I disagree with the method by which he chooses to argue his position. To each his own. That's the beautiful thing about living in America. We can do that.

In the meantime, I use my discernment and make my own judgments. But most importantly, I exert more energy going on backpacking trips (that is the point here after all, isn't it?) than debating. But again, that is my personal choice.”
