“XL, it doesn't have anything to do with their success for me. It has to do with child labor. WalMart is the BIGGEST EXPORTER OF CHINESE GOODS. 27% of Chinese goods are made by CHILDREN (27%isn't much until you stop and think about alllll those Chinese goods). The Government admits that they have kids working in house factories all over the country. They regularly move to dormitories as young as twelve to work 10 hours a day. I'd like kids to be able to be kids and to grow up learning and playing so I try not to buy from countries I know employ children. I cannot find much that's not made in china at Walmart. Saving a buck is not worth some kid having to spend all day sewing the buttons on a "faded glory" shirt to me. Sometimes you just have to set priorities.....cheap groceries and home goods, or pay $25 more and buy from a store/country that doesn't support child labor. It's your choice but don't tell me why I don't support the company. There's a LOT more to it than their success. It's HOW they got where they are. It hasn't been pretty.

It amazes me how people who supposedly care about kids and just love children don't even bat an eyelash at buying stuff manufactured by them, in facilities where they regularly get maimed and killed. As long as you all get your DVDs for the smiley low price of $8.99 it's all good.
