Wow, bristlecone pine are really amazing trees..I like to think that every curve is in response to something that happened in their environment over the hundreds of years...just looking at one is like watching a very, slow dance...a dance for the millennium..

What a great place for a hike...looks like you had a good time..was it altitude that got 4wheelbob?

MH2 - not sure yet if it was the altitude but that is the prime suspect. He was fine at 8-9-10-and-11,000' but 12,500' may have thrown him a bit...

Looking across Owens Valley
Ok now from left to right name those peaks! JK but I wonder if there is a published picture out there with some names on it. Great photos. That hike is on my have to do list and now to see how you made a desolate area look good on film I know I have to go there. Thanks for sharing BC.

I think what some people call "desolate areas" are usually the most beautiful and intriguing areas ;)
