The linning at the seam on the inside of the bag is tearing? It is a great bag and I really do not want to buy another one unless I have to.

WK, it may be worth finding a local seamstress, check at dry cleaners or a local sewing supply store.

Just use a needle and thread and sew it up. If it's only a section of threads that came loose it's no big deal. A hand sewn stitch will hold it.

What liz said. A simple whip-stitch sounds like the solution. Taking it out to someone may not be the solution.

I took some slacks to one cleaners. D@mn was that bad. Took another pair of slackes to a different cleaners. It was great.

ChicagoMarks comment should be taken to heart. I took a jacket that I loved to the cleaners. The lining was ripped up. The cleaner said they could fix it. I didn't think they could, but the price was fair and I loved the coat. When I got it back I was shocked. They built a new liner and I couldn't tell it wasn't from the store (except there were no tags). Top quality. The shop changed hands and I had something similar done to another jacket. What a disaster (and this was a minor repair!) I had it done over again somewhere else and it worked out fine.

I ain't one for sewing, I would have to take it somewhere to get it done right.

Do it yourself. Easy job.

Just make sure there aren't any large blood stains inside, first (anyone remember this?).

If the fabric is fraying, there's some nice stuff you can squirt around the edges that aren't frayed yet, so it doesn't continue and ruin the new seam you put in. It's inexpensive and available at sewing stores. I can't remember the name of the product but if you describe what it does the ladies will know.
Sometimes my posts seem like pure jibberish to me. I hope you guys can occasionally understand what I'm trying to get across!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I am going to try to repair the tear myself.

Blood stains?
