Hmmmm, there seem to be a few threads missing this morning. Matt had a busy night.

Nope, he took care of them this morning. I had a chance to post on them before they disapeared. =D

Yep. It's the religious scum who try to rebut science.

Was BB busy? I was wondering why there was a voting thread for him.

Geo - That doesn't mean I was "busier". It just means there were more posts. I didn't have to be "busy" to post them.

And yet another example of Sarge-logic, which is to logic as military music is to music.
Geobeet

If you see a mom with octuplets, and one with twins, it doesn't mean the mom w/ octuplets was any busier when she conceived the babies. The result looks busier, but that doesn't mean she was busier when she conceived them. If that's called "sarge-logic", fine, whatever. It's just a fact.
Sarge

What has a mom with octuplets got to do with punching up well over 100 responses to a thread? And not just one thread, but two. Granted, you just kept submitting the same message, but Buddha Bear didn't even come close to that many keystrokes. Duh!

I don't know. Maybe you're just naive?!

Anyways, I did not use any additional keystrokes or mouse clicks to do what I did than you did to post your last post.

Believe it ... or Not!
Sarge

Actually the mom w/ octuplet's would have been busier. She'd have been producing more eggs and would've had more eggs to attach to the uterus, norishing those eggs, etc. And if you don't think that growing a baby (or 8 of them) is work on a Mom's part you've never been close enough to a pregnant woman to see how worn out making a baby can make her.

Sorry, carry on...

Actually Sass, I was talking about "conception". I was not talking about the development of the eggs. Reread the post above and offer your apology.

Just for you Sass (free of charge):

From dictionary.com

*Formation of a viable zygote by the union of the male sperm and female ovum; fertilization.

And so you don't think producing 8 eggs for fertilization is more work than producing 2? Are you confused Sarge? ;)

With all due respect to Sass everyone knows us men do all the work. Compare the number of little swimmers to the number eggs. Being a guy is, like, hard 'an stuff.
Nigal
12:11:15 PM
8/24/05

Oh I agree 100% Nigal. I think you took just as many naps as me when we hiked during my pregnancy. It was probably the sperm production wearing you out. =D I know you men have it rough. It's gotta be tiring just listening to that thing and trying hard not to follow it around, lol.

Sass - Technical question for you. Were the eggs produced BEFORE or DURING conception? Thanks.
Sarge
12:24:05 PM
8/24/05

Sarge, conception takes place during ovulation when the eggs are being moved down the philopean tubes and into the uterus(sometimes they're even fertized in the tube!). Women's eggs are formed before they're born(did you know we're born with all the eggs we'll ever have), but she had to shoot them down the tubes, etc. You can hold your breath as long as you want;I don't think I owe you an apology.
Sassafras
12:33:46 PM

Sass - So that ladies body somehow knew ahead of the sexual act that she was going to have octuplets so it worked harder to shoot more down the tubes, or more of the eggs that were there just happened to be fertilized?
Sarge

here you go Sarge. If you read this page you'll see that the egg (one per month in most cases) has to split.
http://mypage.direct.ca/c/csamson/multiples/1formed.html

And in the case of multiples (triplets, etc) generally more than one egg is released.

Ahhh, this is developing into a TT classic.
Geobeet

I got that Sass.

The question is "Did the woman who ended up having octuplets work harder at the 'splitting of the egg' and/or 'releasing of eggs' than the woman who had twins at the time of conception."

The answer is "no", regardless of what happened prior to, or after conception. Both women worked equally as hard.
Sarge
12:49:41 PM
8/24/05

That's your opinion.
Mine is that the more eggs split and or fertilized the harder a woman's body is working.
Sassafras

Sass, I hope you appreciate Sarge telling you how a woman's body works. Not many men will do that.
Geobeet
12:53:08 PM

Mine is that the more eggs split and or fertilized the harder a woman's body is working.

Under your logic Sass, the guy who gave the sperm and had octuplets worked harder than the guy who had twins also.
Sarge

Nope, because he always shoots multiple sperm who all want to be the one to get to the egg. There's nothing different about what he does at all.

Here is a key pharas for you sass, from your link, highlighting mine:

They are not caused by fertility drugs or other methods and are a spontaneous occurance. Sometime after fertilization, the egg splits into two halves.

Here's another definition of conception for you Sarge,(please pay special attention to #2):

Conception: 1. The union of the sperm and the ovum. Synonymous with fertilization.
2. The onset of pregnancy, marked by implantation of the blastocyst into the endometrium.
3. A basic understanding of a situation or a principle.
From the Latin conceptio, conceptionis meaning conception, becoming pregnant; drawing up of legal formulae; and from the Latin conceptus meaning conceiving, pregnancy; collecting, or a collection.
