Day Hike to Dicks Peak, Desolation Wilde rness

“I have finally made it to the summit of Dicks Peak! After trying two other times and not getting to the top. The 1st time I tried, we had to turn away because of my friends doggies paws got pretty sore from the rocks, the second time I went solo and had to turn back very short of the summit because it was late in the day and did not want to get stuck hiking back in the dark..that was my fault I left to late hiking in. Yesterday I finally got to the top after many years of wanting to get there! the day was beautiful with some pretty clouds and a bit of over cast skies at time...beautiful butterflies flying all around us on the summit & cute little ladybugs all over. Any of you that will be in the area sometime, this is a beautiful hike with great open views most of the time along the trail. “I almost feel homesick looking at your pic's! Good Job! Sorta a little known fact...almost no-one camps @ Dick's Lake, I think its' a very pretty spot. Gilmore is the only place in Desolations where I've ever seen bears!”

“MiT, The new camera makes a big difference! Beautiful! I have not hiked much in that area, but if I make it up north you have to take me there! That's a good clear picture of you. Now I will know who to look for this weekend! See you on Saturday!

I was going to ask about the poodle too! The flying ears are funny! First thing I though of was Phantomsoul's mountain goat picture!
