i just read a few more threads. it seems as though the recruiters over-state their ability to place non-EU nationals. its just awfully risky. i'm now leaning strongly towards taking another contract in korea, after i take some time off back home, and just visit europe occasionally

From what i hear about the TEFL stuff - finding the good gigs is the tough part.

in europe, it is. it is much easier in east asia, especially south korea. you cant swing a cat without hitting a hagwon here

Yeah, a friend of mine did it for a while, got a job with the British council and married a Korean lassie, though I think he's back in the UK now.
Russia is an interesting place to teach apparently. And it's a very interesting place to live for a while.
