I wish, I wish, I could handle another Jack Russell in my home! I love his ears! He is up for adoption, and I can't get him. I am sad.

It's not a chance I want to take for his sake, Daphne's sake, and most of all, my sake. It would break my heart if it didn't work out.

ANOTHER Jack you say!!! I don't know how you could handle one around the house!! Not that they aren't cute as all get out but...

(This from someone with 2 Australian Cattle Dogs and one Australian Shepherd)

I hope he finds a loving home soon.

LMAO @ PepperDog! You got three dogs! Yes, one Jack is quite a handful. Especially when they are dominant and devoted to one person, and one person only. Makes for some testy situations when others are around. But, my next dog will be from a rescue, and since most people DO NOT research a Jack before they get one, unfortunately, there are quite a few up for adoption. The main reason a lot of people drop off, give up their Jack is its high need for attention and exercise.

By the way, Daphne was herded one morning at a beach by a Bordie Collie. She is trainable. Just not by me. LOL!

That's a longer legged one isn't it? Those things are pretty rare aren't they? I knew a woman who had one and got it from Kentucky and they would only sell it fixed.

Are two dogs really that much more than one?

Yes, Nigal, with 2 Jacks in an apartment, with the owner gone 10 hours a day, and the first Jack having 7 years of spoiled rottenness, the other Jack coming to share that, I beleive I might have problems.

A few years ago, Daphne got into a $514.00 fight with a Rat Terrier. It was not pretty, and it was pretty scary. They did have to be seperated for months. Even when reintroduced, Daphne cowered and was pretty shaken up. Once they taste blood, forget it. Can't trust them. So, I won't take that chance and come home again to a torn neck that has to have a tube in it for 3 weeks.

I just know about Jacks. This does not mean that other breeds could not get along together.

Ode to Jack Russel Terriers
"Back To Your Heart"

It's not that I can't live without you
It's just that I don't even want to try
Every night I dream about you
Ever since the day we said goodbye
If I wasn't such a fool
Right now I'd be holding you
There's nothin' that I wouldn't do
Baby if I only knew

[Chorus:]
The words to say
The road to take
To find a way back to your heart
What can I do
To get to you
And find a way back to your heart

I don't know how it got so crazy
But I'll do anything to set things right
Cuz your love is so amazing
Baby you're the best thing in my life
Let me prove my love is real
And made you feel the way I feel
I promise I would give the world
If only you would tell me girl

[Chorus]

Give me one more chance, to give my love to you
Cuz no one on this earth loves you like I do
Tell me...

[Chorus]

I turn back time
To make you mine
And find a way back to your heart
I beg and plead
Fall to my knees
To find a way back to your heart

Great picture!

Wolfie, you're wise to not take on another. Birchdog has many simular qualities to Daph. It wasn't pretty and still isn't somedays when we got Cully. It's just now, after 6 1/2 years, to the point where she'll seek him out to snuggle with. She still puts the beat down on him if he tries to play around her. I'd have stuck w/one dog if I could do it again. Or maybe if I could really do it again I wouldn't have spoiled her truly rotten as a pup! But it's too late for that.

LOL! That's a damn shame that I would probably actually sing that about my dog. I might slur a little, but hey, it's the sorrow that counts right?
