High Country Hike myjn2006View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 2 of 2 messages posted.
“Hi all, I am planning on going here (see link below) May-June of next year. Advance notice now. You will need to be: VERY fit. We will acclimatize for 3-5 day in Colorado @ altitudes up to 13,000 feet then mosey to trailhead for the hike itself. You will need to be a lil more than "conversant" with map/compass as some of this trail involves route finding. 2-5 total (including me). These are deal breakers for me: 1. Smokers 2. Druggies 3. Heavy drinkers 4. USA - bashers. Sorry, that's the way it's gotta be for me. Request: Please do not take cheap shots at me for this post. If you are sincerely interested, let me know. I plan to take 6-8 weeks off work (mostly unpaid) next summer to do this trip and to go further north and west to visit friends in WA state afterwards. Now, go do those crunches and uphill runs and bicycle rides!!! (if you are interested in the trip, that is). It is my plan that party will share meals (except daily hike food) and thus can cut down on weights of stove, fuel, etc. I have food dehydrator and will be dehydrating boatloads of fruit for the trip. Btw, I have dehydrated food that is still good 3 YEARs post dehydrating. There ya go. Here is the trip: http://outhiking.com/ty%20index.html Highcountry out” 1:47:21 PM 8/26/05 “These are deal breakers for me: 1. Smokers 2. Druggies 3. Heavy drinkers 4. USA - bashers.
