I can help some. Best time to visit is Fall, Winter, Spring. Superstition Wilderness has multiple hiking and backpacking opportunities, lots of people since it is close to Phoenix. Highline Trail just below the Mogollon Rim offers 3-5 days of backpacking, very scenic, opportunity to view the Ponderosa Pine forest in a variety of stages, burn, bark beetle devastation, recovery. Mazatzal Wilderness, recently burned up. Verde River (paddle trekking option). This for starters.

With a bit more info on when you think you'll visit, dayhike or backpack, etc. I can perhaps help steer toward a couple decent options. Steve
