Yesterday on my way back from Crossville, I came across US 70 (just for kicks and giggles) and came across this place.

It was pretty crappy weather, so I didn't hike it, but think I will take an afternoon pretty soon and go out there.

I find the neatest spots on the backroads.

You should have stopped at least, it is a short (but kinda steep in one spot) trail down to the bottom of the falls. I have known about this for a few years now and sometimes stop by on my way to Knoxville or the Frozen Head area.

It was pouring down when I got there. Discretion said another day would be better.

beauty! I love finding stuff like that...just wandering (or driving) along and BAM! (I've got an ongoing list of "secret" waterfalls I've found in 3 states)

good stuff. :)

it is an outstanding area and a great repelling spot. The day after a good soaking rain is best the falls are amazing.

Had a wonderful day hike Friday. Did the 10 mile Low Gap trail in Morgan Monroe State Forest. I saw my very first, in the wild, Timber Rattle Snake. Damn near stepped on it. Good thing he rattled at me. I wish I would have had my camera with me. Took a few shots with the cell phone but they're not great. They're so docile. He just sat there on the trial not even caring that I was there. It's like he knew he could end me with one bite. If he could talk he would have said "This is my trail beotch!"

Also saw 4 deer including a fawn that still had her spots. Ate tons of blackberries and thought I wondered onto private property. I think I was more afraid of some drunk hill jack shooting me for trespassing than I was of the Timber Rattler.
