High lynox you best set the fetzer first. Low lynox you can do it either way but most techs prefer to do it after. Low lynox is the norm so it's easy to forget to check it.” 8:12:10 AM 7/05/07 “Do you use Tesla's fifth postulate of electrical discharge when you are figuring the settings?” 8:46:55 AM 7/05/07 “I prefer the readings from the Percival radial return ratio meters. It is a much more accurate gauge of how corrupt the source code was.” 8:48:48 AM 7/05/07 “I believe your problem lies in the gromancer cabulance, it certainly overheats when disambiguation is introduced surfacially.” 8:52:26 AM 7/05/07 “The 3rd Bay ventilation matrix unit handles the overheating without having to disrupt the surfaciality registry. Saves a lot of time and unneeded wiring reworks.” 8:56:04 AM 7/05/07 “certainly, but filtering the intake on the matrix will lessen collection and lower hyperthermic propondicules” 8:59:30 AM 7/05/07 “that is the reason they have developed the ionized polarization filters. It more than triples the life of the matrix. This is a fairly new development. It is one of the few advances made during the most recent America's cup contest although it was released in beta form about three years ago.” 9:02:46 AM 7/05/07 “Well well...chappy is a FILTERER ...HMMMMMM yeah I had heard about FILTERERS...okay I have to admit I dabbled in Filtering in college... Have either of you set off the "blue smoke" container when you are recalibrating the 3rd Bay Ventilaition Matrix?” 9:03:32 AM 7/05/07 “blue smoke is so old school.......contained asbules are much more direct and reduce coloumb primers more effectively...” 9:07:11 AM 7/05/07 “the "blue smoke" container? XL... you need to stop reading those stoner magazines. That stuff will kill you.” 9:08:12 AM 7/05/07 Blue smoke? “No no....there was a sale on them in EBAY (LOL) Hey can you guys get me a #7 reverse phrasen diode? Trying to fix my CD player.” 9:18:06 AM 7/05/07 “I think Dollar General had a sale on those last week............” 9:19:40 AM 7/05/07 “Why do you think they were featured on ebay... sheesh. I got #4 32 msec side bus. Guess that won't help. Everything else I am using.” 9:20:44 AM 7/05/07 “and i thought i had too much time on my hands...” 1:20:29 PM 7/05/07 “I love hard science fiction ....” 1:44:56 PM 7/05/07 “I'm never drinking with you guys ever again....” 4:32:03 PM 7/05/07 10:55:41 AM 7/06/07 “wow, I am shocked .... ..... not.” 11:02:23 AM 7/06/07 LSP “Can someone tell me what an LSP is? I seem to have a connectivity problem with an installed LSP. :( My 13 yo is without MSN.. OHMYGAWD!!” 5:24:02 PM 2/25/08 “Local Service Provider perhaps. Assuming your using dial up. check your accounts if you have more than one.” 5:34:42 PM 2/25/08 “Layered Service Provider http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Layered+Service+Provider One major common issue with LSPs was that if were to be removed or unregistered improperly or if the LSP was buggy, it would result in corruption of the Winsock catalog in the registry, and the entire TCP/IP stack would break and the computer could no longer access the internet. LSP technology is often exploited by spyware and adware programs in order to intercept the communication across the Internet. For example, malware may insert itself as an LSP in the network stack and forward all of the user's traffic to an unauthorized external site, where it can be data-mined to find the user's interests to bombard him/her with targeted advertisements, as well as spam e-mail. If such malware is removed, the computer may be left without a working network connection, should the LSP fail to unregister properly. Such potential loss of all network connectivity is prevented in Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 and all later Windows operating systems, in which Winsock has the ability to self-heal after a user uninstalls such an LSP.” 5:36:04 PM 2/25/08 “But then more than likely Layered Sevice provider. Check this out. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial59.html” 5:37:51 PM 2/25/08 Thanks Ski! “I have a connection but my childrens wireless router continues to have problems. I've contacted the company that made the router but they claim I have some other problem. There is a link I saved in favorites that I can use to reset the wireless but 90% of the time, I can't access the page. I've tried the fix it that resets the winsock but it didn't help. My kids will just have to live without internet. I lived without internet when I was a kid! I walked up hill thru a snow storm to school, too. :D” 5:42:37 PM 2/25/08 “I checked out that website, jackstraw. I'm skeeert to download that kind of stuff because I don't know what the heck I'm doing. Microsoft ran a fix-it but there may be something malicious on my computer. I do have a McAfee package that is suppose to protect my computer. Of course, that's not 100% guarantee.” 5:51:12 PM 2/25/08 Freaky PC Speakers “I bought some new speakers for my pc. Last night I woke up and heard voices coming from my living room. I went to check it out and discovered it was coming from my speakers. It was a guy preaching!! The pc was off-line at the time. Well tonight it happened again while I was using it. It seems like a radio station in being picked up. Any suggestions?” 5:57:02 PM 2/25/08 “LMAO King's X brutha! ”6:06:40 PM 2/25/08 Any suggestions? “You don't need a computer repairman for help. You need an exorcist. ![]() last edited: 2/25/08 6:18:49 PM” 6:18:39 PM 2/25/08 7:03:59 PM 2/25/08 “LOL! That's funny. I am moving my speakers around right now as we speak. I hope this stops, it's kinda scary.” 7:13:32 PM 2/25/08 “Be afraid. Be very afraid” 7:21:12 PM 2/25/08 “Captain Howdy says possession is 9/10ths of the law.....” 7:39:40 PM 2/25/08 “ ”7:52:19 PM 2/25/08 4:52:06 AM 2/26/08 “80% of the computers in my company are on Windows XP or 98. Our sales force, with new laptops are running Vista. I can generate a document in Word or Excel in XP and of course they can read it. However, if they generate an Excel file or Word Document and send it to me, I can't even get it to open. I have learned to change the extension file name on Excel to allow me to open it, but I cannot figure out how to change the Word files. Any suggestions?” 6:21:57 PM 3/11/08 “They need to save it in the older word format. I dont have it in front of me, but I think the dropo-down to select the version is just below the box where you name the file.” 6:48:10 PM 3/11/08 “Thanks. I was pretty much convinced I couldn't salvage it on my side. Now, just convincing sales guys to do that. I would rather herd cats for a living.” 6:54:00 PM 3/11/08 “That's not an OS issue, I'm guessing they are running Office 2007 & you're running an earlier version... in Office 2007 the default setting for saving documents is a 2007 extension, so for example instead of saving a WORD Doc as a .doc file it saves it as a .DOCX file... all you have to do is tell them to save the files in more conventional file formats... ie., Office 2003 formats!” 7:00:41 PM 3/11/08 “Microsoft got a lot of flack for this incompatibility, they said is was because 2003, etc, files were no longer secure. I believe this is the update that fixes this issue. Please read this carefully, you need to completely update your Office 2003, etc, to the most current service pack. It could also crash your system, destroy your hard drive and make you impotent. last edited: 3/11/08 9:21:45 PM” 9:16:33 PM 3/11/08 “In other words, I am pretty much screwed.” 2:38:28 AM 3/12/08 In other words, I am pretty much screwed.” “Nope! Download Open Office. Its freeware and is every bit as powerful as Microsoft office. You can open any type of file or version of file with it. Ergo, you can open Vista based docs and read and edit them then save the file in your format. It really is an awesome program. Youll be up and reading docs in minutes. http://www.openoffice.org/” 4:38:02 AM 3/12/08 “Office 2007? We're still running 2000 at my job.” 5:10:53 AM 3/12/08 “Question, I am seriously looking at going with the New Mac Air....how is the compatibility with Windows and Vista on the new mac software? I use the Office package, photo shop, a PDF program and some sort of CAD program.. If anyone knows I would appreciate the information.” 5:16:50 AM 3/12/08 “I would check for compatibility of your programs with Vista. I know that you can only run AutoCAD 2007 or higher on Vista. If you have an older version you're SOL.” 5:25:24 AM 3/12/08 Save documents in previous file format by default “Chili- You don't have to teach them to save in *.doc format. You can change Word to save in Word 2003-97 (*.doc) by default. If you frequently save Microsoft Office Word 2007 documents as Word 2003-97 (.doc) files, you can change the settings so that Word saves documents in that file format by default. Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Word Options. Click Save. Under Save documents, next to Save files in this format, select Word 2003-97 Document (*.doc).” 6:28:27 AM 3/12/08 “XL- Carefully check the specs on the Macbook Air. It's thin, but you may not be happy with the speed or hard drive space available.” 6:31:54 AM 3/12/08 “why is it when i change the font size in view, it doesn't change on trailtalk even though it changes on every other website? this tiny print is killing me. and i'm tired of using the zoom in the bottom corner, i'm looking for something a little more permanent.” 1:30:35 AM 3/13/08 “well?” 9:37:47 AM 3/13/08 “Its how the site is coded. I would have to pull the HTML apart to figure out why. I agree its bad design from a usability standpoint. Yes, I do software design/programming by profession.” 10:43:25 AM 3/13/08 Jump to Page << prev
