Anyone in Seattle?

“So when and where are you and Oldtimer going to hike? I really should come down because I now know so many people in Oregon. I know a couple people out in Bend now. I have wanted to do some hiking and general play out in Easter Oregon. Well, Eastern Washington also. I have heard it is nice out along the Deschutes River, and floating down it is supposed to be fun.

I told Steve that I would definitely come to Winterfest if they do it again this year. He and Rodney will have to decide if and what about Winterfest this year. And the New Year is on Sunday, so it would be Saturday and Sunday for the main festivities. Only I'm not driving the whole way in one day like last time. Have you heard from any of the other people like Rob? I think I heard he did his Tahoe Rim trip, but I may be thinking of someone else.

Anyway, just hold on to the radio and one day we will cross paths again. You'll have to make me a Kahlua Smoothie! I'll insist!!!

“Well it's been rainy and overcast in Seattle the last couple days so this will be a good excuse to get out and run around, even if it is in the city.”

“Oldtimer and I would love to have an excuse to go over to the Bend area. We are actually trying to get over to the Sister's Wilderness before the snow (maybe we are too late already?) We had to cancel our Timberline Trail trip, but we're hoping to add it to next summer, so think about this one also. Anytime you want to come down, just let us know and we'll figure out something.. Kahlua Smoothies for certain! I'll keep my eye on Winterfest for sure. Keep in touch!”

“Hubby and I escaped to Yakima to do that Skyline Trail and avoid our area rain. It was great, except that the trail was loaded with false summits!!!

The ride through the Yakima Canyon area with the river running through it is really breathtaking and someone who has never been there would not even think it was part of our green state. It's amazing, saw a lot of coyote tracks.

I only go there when it's cool to avoid the rattlesnacks.”
