$2000 wont buy sheeyat. It would be just enough to make me realize how much I had lost.

My cousin and his family who are staying with us are going to recieve $2000 as well. They also for the first time have applied for food stamps and unemployment. My cousin and his wife both work full time he in a refinery and she in an office. They don't know for sure how deep the water got (at least 8 feet) but they know their house is standing, because we viewed it on the internet. Some of my other relatives which came by yesterday for dinner had water into second stories. They have lost everything. These are working people of middle class neighborhoods. The sterotype New Orleanean procrast by the media is on the welfare role. Every city has differnet income classes. Now New Orleans has many more of one class POOR. Even those with jobs and nice homes are now POOR. Their homes, jobs and in unfortunate cases lives washed away with Katrina. Some have given so much to help the victims and some have hearts so cold to think that these victims have hit the jackpot. Barbra Bush with her snotty comments come to mind when speaking of the people of New Orleans. You are not royality Mrs. Bush and we are not your subjects. I'd love to see your pampered AZZ rescued from the toxic floodwaters and handed $2000 and told you just hit the jackpot. Your son Prince Idiot may be our president but you are not our queen.

"This is working very well for them."
Would you like a glimpse into the mind that raised our Chickenhawk in Chief? From the former first lady, Barbra Bush, commenting on the refugees from New Orleans that have been bused to the Houston Astrodome:

What I'm hearing which is sort of scary is that they all want to stay in Texas. Everybody is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway so this (chuckle)--this is working very well for them.

That's right, boys and girls. If you are a poor black resident of New Orleans and have just survived a hurricane, had your home and all worldly possessions washed away from the ensuing flood, then waited for nearly a week while Bush and the rest of his government was on vacation, only to be shipped by bus to the Houston Astrodome where you now call home, things are working very well for you.

Not only does she find this logical, she thinks the idea of these poor black people moving to her state is scary. No wonder George is #&%!$ed up.

MP3 Audio here. (hat tip to Atrios)
