I love the title of the article. The press thinks the Kevin Bacon game is news.

Who are Haliburton's competitors? Why do we never hear from them? If the competitors started doing interviews claiming that the President will not award them any contracts that would be news. All we get for news is the Kevin Bacon game.

How many of you use Microsoft products?

did you know a single Blackwater security contractor costs the government $1,222 per day, or $445,000 per year?

that's six times the cost of getting a U.S. Army soldier to do the same thing. Blackwater managers earn more than double what Gen. Petraeus does

yesterday the Pentagon issued blackwater a new $92 million contract. Blackwater has earned upwards of $1 billion in government contracts since 2001.

how about the State Department's report on last month's incident in which Blackwater guards were accused of killing Iraqi civilians.... it exonerated Blackwater. turns out it was written by a Blackwater contractor working in the embassy security detail. kind of convenient?

Republican Rep. Darrel Issa today said any criticism of Blackwater is a repeat of MoveOns "attack on Petraeus' patriotism"

rock on........

Have you seen Issa operate?  Let's just say you probably shouldn't buy a used car from him.

We had the personnel and resources to go after al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, but when you toss in the total #&%!$up in Iraq.... We now have Eight Times as many troops in Iraq as we do in Afghanistan(???)

OH!.... That's Right!  We were supposed to save Billions in Iraq by hiring mercenaries for guard duty and oil service companies for logistics instead of increasing the regular military, Because The War Was Only Going to Take a Couple Of Months And Pay For Itself!   HA!

And now we need to increase the regular military anyway!!  BRILLIANT!  It's like Leasing a car for three years and then Buying it!

Famous Last Words from 1999.... "Sure we'll put George's idiot son in as a caretaker for a term or two.  The Soviets are gone; everything is on autopilot....  What could Possibly go wrong?"

its estimated that 40 cents out of every U.S. federal dollar spent in Iraq has gone into the pockets of private contractors like Blackwater.

These contractors are explicitly immune from Iraqi laws (thanks to L. Paul Bremer's Order 17, issued on June 27, 2004, which declared that U.S. private contractors in Iraq are completely immune from Iraqi legal processes and regulations) and, as Ken Starr and other lawyers for Blackwater have argued, these for-profit soldiers are also "constitutionally immune" from U.S. domestic laws and jurisdiction.

go play shoot 'em up. shoot whoever you want, with no fear of prosecution.

nice!

MEET BLACKWATER
Erik Prince, founder and CEO of Blackwater, once worked as an intern in the first Bush administration. His father was instrumental in the creation of the Family Research Council, one of the right-wing Christian groups most influential with the Bush administration. His mother is affiliated with the Council for National Policy, the secretive Christian conservative organization whose meetings have been attended by Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Bremer, and whose membership includes Jerry Falwell, Ralph Reed and James Dobson.

Joseph Schmitz, chief operating officer and general counsel. In 2002, President Bush named Schmitz to oversee the Pentagon's military contracts as the Defense Department's inspector general. He resigned in 2005 after accusations of interfering with criminal investigations into inappropriately awarded contracts, turning a blind eye to conflicts of interest and other failures of oversight.

Kenneth Starr, general counsel. He needs no introduction.

Blackwater made roughly $73 million for Katrina-related government contract work by June 2006, less than a year after the hurricane hit. The company was recently one of five awarded a Department of Defense counter-narcoterrorism contract that could be worth as much as $15 billion.

Wait until many US bigs leave the US to live off of the oil profits in Iraq, they have their private army ready. By election time comes round they'll have killed most that would stand in their way. The chance of standing up to war crimes my be distant.Hehaw
