Alright... so we are still planning on going to Nepal and headin up to base camp... but thre's a few in the group who have finally came up and told us that there might be some better places to go... So anybody have some outstanding ideas of a good hiking trip, and i'd prefer it be international.

Have you seen Midnight Express yet?

You might want to stay in the US.

One of my neighborhood buddies from when I was growing up ended up in a Tibetan prison during a trip that took him to the Everest base camp and up a few stations.

His friend wrote about it in a book called "Sky Burial."

I'm thinking a Tibetan Prison doesn't sound like my idea of a great place to spend your vacation.

Denali National Park, Alaska.

Watch out for the Grizzlies

(No, it's not international, but less hassle that way!)

LOL No Prob - I hear the prison wasn't great and I remember how freaked out his Mom was. However, he and his friend ended up meeting the Dai Lai Llama and got an incredible welcome in the Tibetan refugee communities becaue they helped expose what the Chinese (or "Chi-Coms" as Mutt calls em) were doing to the Tibetans.
