That said, since I have heard nothing from people in New Orleans complaining about the US troops there - and much that tells me the troops were needed there, I have to assume, sadly, that Nigal has a point. Since she put it in writing (and I read the whole thing) there is no way to say she has been misquoted or that she mispoke. Whether its the stress of all she has been doing recently and the controversy, or she was off balance well before that - she definitely looses credibility when she says stuff like that.

Despite disagreeing with her on her calls for the US to withdraw from Iraq right away, I sympathized with her outrage over Shrub's deceptions. I also was aghast at some of unfair Sheehan bashing that went on. My instinct was to defend her, but after some thought - I saw you had a good point. Harshly put, but on target.”
