The NEW Pass Around Camera Project

“Nigal has volunteered to start another "Pass Around Camera Project", similar to the one we did several years ago. Here's how it will work; Nigal will procure a disposable film camera, and he will take one week to take ONE picture with it, then he will send it on it's way to the next person on the list, who in turn will have one week to take their best shot, etc.

If we have enough people interested, we will use more than one camera. The intent is to take a photo of something scenic in your travels or in your area, making the best possible picture that you can in one weeks time. Each person will only be permitted to shoot one frame with the camera before sending it on to the next person. The list of addresses will end with my name and address, as I will take the final shot and then have the film processed, uploading all of the images to a photo gallery where we can all enjoy the images.

If you are interested in participating in this experiment, send your name, address, trail talk name, and email address to Nigal with the words "Pass around camera project" in the subject line. If you have any questions, post them here in this thread so all can benefit from the answers.

If everyone is interested, we can even have a contest of sorts and I'll come up with some prizes or something to make it interesting. Nothing too extravagant of course, just for fun.”

“I don't know that it should be hiking related, but the object is to capture your best image of something in nature, scenic or otherwise. Use your best judgement. No demerits will be given.”

“Oh yeah, my photo sucked! I went for a boring, all-encompassing shot from the top of Harney Peak (so excited to be on top, I guess! -- which would also put that first go-round back in 2000).

It was not the very classy stuff I keep winning county fair awards with. LOL!

Now, just today, I was out trying to get some possible entries for an Upper Mississippi Fish and Wildlife Refuge contest on the river. One -- possibly two -- have potential. The rest were FORCED!!! to say the least! :-) aaack!”

Say end of next week? that will give us time to get people to buy the cameras and get the lists together as well as make sure everyone gets a chance to sign up. Once we start it'll be a real pain getting late comers signed up. Near impossible realy.”

“You asked about Priority to me hobbit, it's cause I live in northern Italy. You send that puppy by Ground and it's about a 5 to 6 weeks delivery.

Nig I can wait on an arrival of a camera, or I can buy one and start a pic train myself, whichever you'd like. Nov 1 we are heading out to Prague and Krakow-Auschwits areas for 10 or 11 days. Don't know when you guys wanna get cranked up with this project, but if you wanna get something in the Czech Rep or Poland, I can tote one up for my pic and then send the camera Stateside. Or, I can wait for a few ppl to get some pix and wait for it.
