There's no list with the midwest camera unless tarabull printed one off to go with it.

I believe Nonconformist was first on the list and was to print out the list to send along but sense there's a lot of hand to hand passing whoever has it now should be sent the list by me. Who's got it?

Noncom gave it to us, minus list. Birch and I took our pics and gave it to tarabull before Thanksgiving. I don't know if she passed it on yet or not. I did put an index card in with the camera to write down who took what shot so it's easier to sort out in the end, not that that helps now, lol.

Pudding? Farts? What's this thread coming to? Just take *%&^@#* picture and pass it along.

Tarabull has the Midwest camera along with Sass's index card. I'm sure she's printed a copy of the list, but I'll e-mail it to her just in case.

I got it yesterday, Nigal! Too bad, though! I wanted it for Sunday's hike in Cold Spring in the Hudson Valley. It was a little cloudy, but the views over the Hudson were gorgeous. We may be going back up that way this Sunday, though.

Uh Oh!!!
I got the camera today... However... when I took it out of the envelope, there was some rattling (I haven't taken the camera out of its box... for fear of exposing the film unnecessarily)

I am afraid it might have gotten crushed inside its box during shipping... (it looks pretty smushed...)

Do you think I should just take it somewhere to get processed and start a new camera? (They can put it in their "film bag" and therefore avoid (hopefully) exposing the film...
pinkbubelz

take it to the lab and ask them to process any film they find inside of or spilling out from the camera which is rattling and located inside this crushed box.

I'll see if I can get to the lab this weekend! :-)

Word of caution to other TTers... Make sure to put the camera into a small box when mailing, to avoid getting it crushed! ;-)

Shoot, I'm first on the list for the SE and still haven't taken my photo. I bought a camera for a Smokies trip in Oct and never took a pic. Maybe Sipsey in March.

I hope this pass around crap goes as swimmingly as a stone - you bastages!

I'm still smartin' from the dissin' I recieved during the original pass around fiasco.

LOL!

Yepper. Last time I purchased my own disposable and took test shots at several of my regional haunts in an effoprt to get the best out of my one and only pass around pic.

Um hummm, I was ready. But lo, the camera never arrived...

Thrifty,
Don't get yourself too pumped. You may be setting yourself for a letdown...

It's a cool concept - cudos to the original idea. But it's difficult to pull off. I was on the loop list last (first) time. I did as described above, only to never recieve the camera.

Going to local woods for trial shots was fun, tho...

I vote for a different project. I'll bring a disposable camera to the Apalachicola trip, and everyone can take pictures with it. There ought to be some interesting stuff that way, that's for sure. Especially if Cletus shows up again. ;)

Entropy
Phil, you've added a new word to my vocabulary. It's not even in my dictionary.:p
Entropy, «EHN truh pee», is a measure of the amount of disorder or randomness in a system. Because there are many more random ways of arranging a group of things than there are organized ways, disorder is much more probable. For example, shuffling a deck of cards always leads to a jumbled distribution of cards, and never to an ordered sequence.

Yes, I think that explains it. ;)
songbyrd601

1/25/06

Well, I think my camera has definitely encountered some "entropy"...

Will take it to the photo processor this weekend and see what happens... LOL

By the way, I did a pass-around water color painting before-- it was a blast and our painting traveled from South America to the U. S. and even to Europe!!

Entropy -

Inevitable and steady deterioration of a system or society.

The principle of entropy is why a building will eventually crumble, all computers will eventually crash, and given enough time, our pass around camera project will eventually be nothing but a good idea that really never got off the ground.

Hey Nigal!! I used the camera you sent me this past weekend to start off the Northeast "pass-the-camera" project! I used it in Ithaca with a huge waterfall! Should be wonderful. I will mail it out to the next victim tomorrow!

Wow, there's a camera actually moving?! ;)

Pink, what's going on w/ the midwest camera? Shall I buy a new one and get it moving again?
Sassafras

2/23/06

Yes, there's a camera moving. But, I gotta admit, I cheated. I took a picture at Buttermilk Falls, which was beautiful (with the water rushing over the ice). But, I couldn't resist taking a picture later of Taughannock Falls (215 feet). It was just too majestic to pass up. Besides, at the rate this camera gets around, it will be 2009 before we use up 27 pictures.
