What is the tonage of exahled carbon dioxide per human per year?

What is the estimated tonage of carbon dioxide that needs to be reduced to reverse global warming?

How many Humans need to go?

Population explosion is actually one of the root causes, nimrod. Not to spoil your joke...

Tens of thousands of years of human living we were always way below 1 billion until the 1800's. Then we hit 1 b around 1850,
2.5 b by 1950,
3 b by 1960,
4 b by 1975,
5 b by 1990,
6 b by 2000
6.5 b today.
7 b by 2010?

So the oldest generation (born in the 1920's or 30's) has seen it go from in the 1 billions to the 6 billions within their single lifetime.

What they breathe out isn't the biggest issue. What is the issue is all the coal and oil that increased population has burned in the last 80 years. That's where the biggest part of the extra CO2 comes from. Doesn't help that we keep chopping down all the CO2-depleting trees to make room for all the CO2-creating humans that have exploded everywhere.

Management's job is generally to come to a conclusion and lead a team in that direction. If there's a person on the team who just won't get in line, you let them go. That's the cold hard fact of the workplace.

It happens everyday in every profession.

I find it amazing that you guys don't already know that.

I said nothing of the sort. I was referring to why a scientific team member might be fired from a job for refusing to believe one of the basic tenets of management's driving concepts.

Don't worry, indirectly your statements speak loudly. Global Warming cultists start with a conclusion and force data to fit it. Don't agree with that kind of "science"? Then you're a nutcase who can't see the "common sense" fact that humans cause global warming and you should be fired.

The news just keeps getting funnier. I mean, who falls for their nonsense anyway? Does anyone really believe it’s a good idea to let journalists educate us about science? Apparently so…

I’m watching the news and the anchor is reporting a story about extremely cold weather occurring in the upper mid-west. He says, “Does this disprove Global Warming? No, global warming predicts erratic weather patterns.”

So what he’s saying is that ANY weather we experience can’t disprove the idea of “man-made global warming.”

I just love these faith-based scientific minds: Scientific method, what scientific method? We can't let our feelings be confused by contradictory facts.

I think what we need to learn from this is that...noone really knows for sure so we need to be extremely careful about letting the few make the laws for the many.

Envionmentalisim is a Religion (mostly built on "faith" and "Consensus") it should be treated no differently. If the Reverend Bubba wanted to make us all become Full Gospel Primative Baptists in order to ensure that the world would not end in 20 years, I can bet the loons on the left would be screaming like heck.

Strangely though when we hear similar claims from the Wahabbists no one on the left seems to think it is a danger.

Strangely enough you people are proof enough why global warming is nothing but a pointless debate...

Assume for a split second that there was absolute proof that humans were causing global warming. What next? Nothing but endless political arguments over grandiose plans that will never work.

Back to reality. In order to get real results each problem needs a separate and personal solution. We have to offer a viable replacement for things like gasoline. We have to offer solutions to power homes that are cost effective to the average person. No one will care about Co2 causing global warming But they do care about breathing clean air.

Fortunately Im a bit of a pessimist and realise we will screw our selves in the end.... heres why.

lets say there are ten people sharing the last barrel of oil... it will last the winter only if each one limits themselves to 1 cup of oil a day. Sounds reasonable but thats not what will happen. In fact it is unlikely the barrel will last long at all. It is in our nature to be selfish and greedy. oddly enough it is also logical. as a group we can reason to share the barrel but as individuals it is in our own self interest to take as much as we can get away with.

all this debate does is take money and material away from legitimate research and progress.

The world over-population of people is no longer a debate except for the Quiverfulls who are determined to have as many children as they can and people like XL who once stated he knows of no reason why the world population can not grow to 50 billion people.

Almost everyone admits the problem but few know what to do about it.

The population explosion has already occurred and in a worse way than many might have imagined 50 or 100 years ago for with the ephemeral 'green revolution' human numbers have reached unimaginable levels with the effects like human caused climate change now to plague everyone alive for the foreseeable future.

9 billion, well, that doesn't sound like many does it?

Only about 30 times the number that was fairly stable during the first 3/4trs. of the last 2000 years and that number, about a third of a billion, could be considered the optimum number of people in this world.

hillsidedigger - not saying its a good number, I made the point in a post yesterday on this thread that we've gone from 1 billion to over 6 billion in one lifetime.

One. When it took tens of thousands of generations to get to 1 billion. The reason is coal and oil. If we don't come up with good solutions for oil and gas (they will be gone very soon) then we'll be in for a nasty population implosion when no one can get any food...

There are as many people in North America today as there were in the entire world just 2000 years ago (around 300-350 million). Meanwhile we are tapping into deep aquifers that are dropping in level every year instead of rising because we use more than what can go down through the soil. Oh, and we mostly use coal, gas and oil power to pump that water to the surface.

It will be a race between which runs out first - water, oil, gas, or coal.

Ignoring the later 3 running out some time between 2020 and 2200, I think water will be first big worldwide crisis. Lowering the world population will prevent that crisis.

DOH! Did IQs suddenly drop around here? Oh yeah, our favorite psychotic motorcycle mechanic is asking questions.

Nothing sells propaganda like a CRISIS. What really stirred the German masses was the thought that if the Nazis hadn't killed off all those Jews they would have had a genetic purity CRISIS.

The Mullahs and Imams are pushing the idea of a crusader CRISIS.

Nothing stirs the masses to action, any action, like a CRISIS. It fosters emotional angst. And nothing stirs up what the lefties take for thinking like strong emotions.

Are you just talking to hear yourself make what you believe are clever comments, or does this train of thought escape you as well?

One of the funniest things I've seen in a long, long time was Pedxing responding to a post of mine where he said (and I may be inexact in my quote), "We've got to do our own thinking."

If I had been drinking anything, I would have spit it out my nose.

We agree on the crisis point.

Look at the Bush administration's use of doomsday imagery for the lead up to Iraq for a prime example.

Funny how the media were very happy to get in line behind that particular crisis, liberal bias and all... It's almost like the crisis is the all-important selling point and the bias doesn't really make a difference unless you're unable to see past it.

Of course, the bias toward or against global warming should be an interesting sell coming from you. I've got my popcorn.
