Not Only did it pass, they had enough votes so that Democrats from more "conservative" districts were able to vote against it.   Consequently, they will be less vulnerable to Republican attacks in 2010.

Now it’s on to the Senate.

How is Coleman’s appeal coming along?

You can say that again XL! Hehe, yeah it's stupid, but I never said I was a comedian.

This may be my "arrogant attitude" talking (could be the Yuengling, for sure it's one or the other), but you are nucking futs if you think all these BILLIONS of ppl driving, mowing, boating, grilling, and running all kinda gas burning motors has no effect on our planet. And you're pretty nucking futs again for thankin' that it couldn't be as much as the occasional volcano upchucking.

Just so you know tho, I'm no Cap'n Trade or Save the Planet Nazi. I will never give up my cars, grill, riding mower, push mower, weedeater, blower, and whatever else fossil fuel burning thing I've forgotten or that I manage to escrow in the near or distant future. I am quite comfortable knowing that we are gonna eventually pretty much fark up this lovely planet, if not the Greenhouse thing then prolly nukes. I'ma have a dang good time til then tho!

LOL Noncon! That's gonna suck.

The new biggest tax scam in history and idiot progressive liberals think it's great. If you were to design the downfall of this Nation, includiong the complete devaluing of the US dollar, you would do exactly as this Obama administration has done. He admited during that this bill would cause your electricity bill to skyrocket. Oh but Micheal Jackson died, didn't you hear?

Your Nation is being hijacked. Only the uber wealthy and the uber poor will prosper while you foot the bill. Wake up and take back your Country!

The 98-page report, co-authored by EPA analyst Alan Carlin, pushed back on the prospect of regulating gases like carbon dioxide as a way to reduce global warming. Carlin's report argued that the information the EPA was using was out of date, and that even as atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have increased, global temperatures have declined.

"He came out with the truth. They don't want the truth at the EPA," Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla, a global warming skeptic, told FOX News, saying he's ordered an investigation. "We're going to expose it."

The controversy comes after the House of Representatives passed a landmark bill to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, one that Inhofe said will be "dead on arrival" in the Senate despite President Obama's energy adviser voicing confidence in the measure.

According to internal e-mails that have been made public by the Competitive Enterprise Institute, Carlin's boss told him in March that his material would not be incorporated into a broader EPA finding and ordered Carlin to stop working on the climate change issue. The draft EPA finding released in April lists six greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, that the EPA says threaten public health and welfare.

An EPA official told FOXNews.com on Monday that Carlin, who is an economist -- not a scientist -- included "no original research" in his report. The official said that Carlin "has not been muzzled in the agency at all," but stressed that his report was entirely "unsolicited."

"It was something that he did on his own," the official said. "Though he was not qualified, his manager indulged him and allowed him on agency time to draft up ... a set of comments."

OH Crap...the Polar Bear populations are on the increase too....(another leg of the religion of the left dies)

http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=1ea8233f-14da-4a44-b839-b71a9e5df868

The latest government survey of polar bears roaming the vast Arctic expanses of northern Quebec, Labrador and southern Baffin Island show the population of polar bears has jumped to 2,100 animals from around 800 in the mid-1980s.

As recently as three years ago, a less official count placed the number at 1,400.

The Inuit have always insisted the bears' demise was greatly exaggerated by scientists doing projections based on fly-over counts, but their input was usually dismissed as the ramblings of self-interested hunters.

As Nunavut government biologist Mitch Taylor observed in a front-page story in the Nunatsiaq News last month, "the Inuit were right. There aren't just a few more bears. There are a hell of a lot more bears."

LOL, y'all krak me up! XL, strat said exactly what I thawt.
The planet is gonna be just fine, it's us that ain't gonna do so well. And yeah yeah I know plenty about volcanoes thanky.

But your polar bear thing is a goofy point. 2100 bears from 800 certainly is a huge jump. But 2100 in and of itself is far from bragging. The 800 number 2 decades ago was from over-hunting no doubt, and the increase would be solely from successful protection measures, not from habitat conditions, good or bad.

nake ape, despite XLs wording, the people that used the polar bears as a bellweather for global warming are at l50% off on their calculations. And this isn't the only area where they have been wrong. So, the point is that their "scientific conclusions" can't be trusted either.

http://climate.jpl.nasa.gov/evidence/

The Earth's climate has changed throughout history. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with the abrupt end of the last ice age about seven thousand years ago, marking the beginning of the modern climate era —and of human civilization. Most of these changes are attributed to the very small changes in the Earth’s orbit changing the amount of solar energy the Earth receives.
.
.
.
Certain facts about Earth's climate are not in dispute:

* The heat-trapping nature of carbon dioxide and other gases was demonstrated in the mid-19th century.2 Their ability to affect the transfer of infrared energy through the atmosphere is the scientific basis of many JPL-designed instruments, such as AIRS. Increased levels of greenhouse gases must cause the Earth to warm in response.

* Ice cores drawn from Greenland, Antarctica, and tropical mountain glaciers show that the Earth’s climate responds to changes in solar output, in the Earth’s orbit, and in greenhouse gas levels. They also show that in the past, large changes in climate have happened very quickly, geologically-speaking: in tens of years, not in millions or even thousands.

rather than playing politics why not take the time to address the opinions of real scientists like the good people at nasa jpl @ cit? i worked with people in this lab on nasa research projects for almost 8 years and i can tell you from firsthand experience that they are outstanding scientists. they wouldn't object in the slightest to your challenging their empirical theories because... they are professionals and also because their theories are empirical (based on observation). so they know their theories fit the evidence and of course they would expect any alternate theory you offer to likewise do the same thing.
