And yet no one has posted that proof yet? Come on---can it really be that hard? Silence the critics once and for all.

Aye, there's the rub, Noncon. Speaking of Jesus, global warming is like the Bible. Either you are in the camp that it's proven, or you're pitched w/ the folks that thinks it's proven not.

Science is process-based on objective reality: tested hypotheses, experiments with reproducible results, as opposed to…. whatever.

One is like pages and pages of functioning code with hundreds or thousands of interconnecting parts versus a short story that could mean anything (or nothing), and doesn't have to prove anything or accomplish anything.

It seems that's the way it goes with unprovable belief systems. People get tired of one story after a while, so a few hundred years later they just make up a new one. Bang --- a new religion. And they'll believe the new one just as fervently as the old one (and do Gawd knows what in support of it).

Adherents obviously regard a belief system based on objective reality as a serious threat and attack it at every turn. Duhbya certainly tried to cast ignorance as a virtue.... and we all saw how that turned out.

Colder than usual: global warming
Warmer than usual: global warming
More rain than usual: global warming
More draught than usual: global warming
Hurricanes: global warming
No hurricanes: global warming

It all fits! Try it yourself!

Dinosaurs: global warming?
Ice Age: global warming?

I always found it astounding that American Conservative types rail 'til they're redfaced about theocracies on the other side of the world.... while they were in the midst fo trying to establish one here.

Your God can beat up Their God, right? LOL

First off, if I did think the environment was being destroyed by humans, the timing of the 2nd coming would have nothing to do with my political views.

Secondly, if I did think the 2nd coming was going to be next week, that has nothing to do with putting a theocracy in place.

Finally, the "Jesus" example I gave before was only to show how Earthandsky's argument worked from either perspective, rendering it pointless. (if you reread what he wrote, you'll see what I'm talking about)

http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2009/20090810_julystats.html

The July 2009 temperature for the contiguous United States was below the long-term average, based on records going back to 1895, according to a preliminary analysis by NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C.

The average July temperature of 73.5 degrees F was 0.8 degrees F below the 20th century average. Precipitation across the contiguous United States in July averaged 2.90 inches, which is 0.14 inches above the 1901-2000 average.

If it gets any colder the dinosaurs will become extinct again. Remember how sad that was? I cried for weeks.

Too bad we didn't have an Endangered Species Act back then. Who wouldn't want to share the Earth with a snuggly dino? I blame Bush for that inaction.

Are we still in denial that we are #&%!$ing up the atmosphere?

Look, for every global warming theorists, there is a counter point from the other side.

That discipline of science is not my thing so I have trouble understanding the data.

What I don't have a problem understanding is that I could see about 20x more 25 years ago from Newfound Gap.

I also don't have a problem understanding that all the crap in the atmosphere is the problem.

What are the long term effects? I can't say that they are as bad as the "save the whales" people want me to believe, but on the other hand, I am certain that the long term result isn't good.

Uh .... RECORD LOWS SINCE THE BEGINNING OF RECORD KEEPING.

Kind of a strange event considering the earth is supposedly GETTING HOTTER OVER THE LAST SEVERAL DECADES AT AN INCREASING RATE AS CO2 IS RELEASED INTO THE AIR BY MAN.

Always CO2 in the discussion, what about the pollution and the direct heat which is being released with every (EVERY) human activity. Tire friction facts. CO2= the god of the Climate Religions of both sides, work on the real culprits first.
