Doggie(Suzy) and I just went for a walk down to the end of our road to go get our mail(about 1.25 miles/one way)....I know, we live out in the boonies. Anyway were walking down the road and I keep hearing this plunk, plunk all around us. I'm thinking what the???? Then I realize what it was....damm acorns. They're falling off the trees all around us just about missing us. I'm thinking they're out to get me.... ;) No JK....it's just funny how they're just dropping off the trees just waiting for one to fall at just the right time to hit me in the head! I swear there out to get me! LOL

You need a hard hat and a cape to catch them in.

We seem to have a bumper crop this year.

I was stopped at a traffic light the other day when one landed on top of my car. BAM!

I was looking around to see who threw what at me when I noticed acorns on the street all around me.

Welcome to the club.

There's a really big mast crop here this year, too.

i used to have to dodge hickory nuts when i was a kid. you always had to be careful where you parked!

the squirrels would drop them on you too!

That's good news for the bears this year. They've had a couple of fairly unproductive years for food in the fall around here.

Good thing you do not have Brazil nut pods or sugar pine cones falling on you.

They weigh many pounds.

When I visited Hawaii a few years ago, we kept hearing things falling from the trees in the Rain forest gardens... Rounded a corner and saw a sign that said, "Caution Falling Mangoes!"

Get hit by one of those from 50 feet up, you're going to be seeing stars!
