REI 20% off couponView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 25 of 25 messages posted.
“coupon is for any 1 item in their outlet store and is good until 10/7. code is GMCP9. i may get a jacket for my hubby.” 8:31:48 PM 10/01/05 “HMMMmmmmmm.... 20% eh?” 8:48:55 PM 10/01/05 “So then you'll only be paying 30% over market value. Be wary of REI. They have lots of cool stuff, but you can usually find a comparable item somewhere else for much less. It's a nice thought though, you sound like a good wife! My anniversary was yesterday, my wife surprised me with a new circular saw for my shop!!! Yeah!!! Cheers to great wives!!!” 10:43:15 AM 10/02/05 “REI is one of my favorites stores. I buy me a pair of hiking boots and get blisters, I know for sure I can return them back to REI. No other store will do that for you. Actually I don't think their prices are THAT heigh. I don't have money to waste, but I don't mind spending a little more for great customer service.” 11:00:48 AM 10/02/05 “REI = Return Every Item I agree that their customer service is great. They have taken things back when I was really certain they would not but felt I had a legit gripe. I always comparison shop but price isn't the only thing I look for. backcountrygear.com is another store that I have had good experience with in this regard. They have good sales and often good prices but their customer support is outstanding. I never dread calling them and they always "make it right". That brings me back time and time again.” 11:04:02 AM 10/02/05 “backcountrygear.com is another one of my favorites. I am not sure about their return policy, but I do know that they have my westernmountaineering bags and I know they have great deals once in a while.” 11:08:52 AM 10/02/05 “Yeah, I scored a pair of winter boots normally for $100, now reduced to like $39 with the discounts. :)” 12:11:22 PM 10/02/05 “I agree that REI isn't always the cheapest option available. I can usually find the same gear at places like Campmor for much less, and being an NY/NJ Trail Conference Member, I would also get an extra 10% off anything I buy there, regardless of whether it's already on sale. However, that being said, if you're an REI member, their level of customer service is unsurpassed as far as my experience with any other outfitter. I just bought a pair of boots over the website/mail, and I can rest assured that if they don't fit just right, I can just return them, no questions asked. Also, with REI, I had a pair of trekking poles for over 6 months when they broke because I slipped and fell on them. REI took them back and exchanged them for me free of charge. I don't think anyone else would do that.” 12:15:38 PM 10/02/05 “No other store will do that? Try EMS... EMS has given me better customer service then REI has.” 3:11:08 PM 10/02/05 “Does anybody else remember when REI was THE low price outfitter? Low prices AND membership dividends! REI's house brands were the low price alternative to North Face and Sierra Designs. What happened?” 6:53:40 PM 10/02/05 “The REI outlet store often has some of the best deals out there. Anbd EMS are good simply becuase REI is so good. REI has raised the standards of all in the outdoor business.” 7:21:12 PM 10/02/05 “no other outfitter would have great customer service if it weren't for REI. other people aren't going to take crap you broke back just because theyre nice. they're doing it to compete with REI, who did it to build an image, which now stands above any other outfitter, whether the pople who dislike REi accept that or not.” 8:08:30 PM 10/02/05 “If you have a Sportsman's Warehouse in your area, give them a look. Out local SW has a huge selection, great customer service people, and prices are always lower than the local REI. The times I've been in our local REI the sales "kids" have been more interested in chatting with their friends and co-workers than helping customers out. Their prices are always retail, unless you come across one of the 20% coupons mentioned above that can be used in a REI store, and not just an REI Outlet. Yup, give SW a shot if you have one in your area!” 8:14:14 PM 10/02/05 “I will shop REI for certain items, but mostly shop at Outdoor World or at my local army surplus store. I like keeping my money local if i can, and they offer great prices on very durable gear. Outdoor World has been great on returns as well. I had two thermarests die on me within weeks and they exchanged them no questions asked.” 9:31:23 PM 10/02/05 “If I go local I am 100% sure that I can not return my boots that I bought 3 month ago...which now give me blisters. None of the local outfitters will do that here in Columbia. I am suppose to walk around in my house and see how they feel...then return them if I don't like them. Well guess what? I don't have hills in my damn house! I am sure if we wouldn't return our gear to REI as much as some do the prices would be lower too. yes, I still buy some of my gear locally...but prefer to shop at REI. Would be nice if we would have one in Columbia.” 8:10:28 AM 10/03/05 “REI is having a 20% off one regular priced item for new and current members. Offer expires 4/2.” 3:12:48 PM 3/24/06 “Just realized today is the last day for the REI 20% Off Members’ doodad! Coupon Code: MEMDEAL ” 2:10:44 PM 3/30/08 “Online coupon code MEMWS8 for 20% off expires today. If you are going to order anything from REI, today is the day to do it. I did my part to stimulate the economy.” 10:22:42 AM 12/01/08 “I can't wait till Christmas!!!!” 10:28:55 AM 12/01/08 “They are out of stock in the frame size of a bike I wanted. Bummer. I would have bought it today with the coupon, but they can't even back order it.” 2:22:51 PM 12/01/08 “i can't find anything i want! help me!” 7:10:32 PM 12/01/08 “I saw you posting on this thread and thought to myself "GD I bet he's bought another pack and this one will weigh 2oz. and be kevlar reinforced clear nylon or something, and expand to 8000 cu in. LOL! Yogi you phukin gear slut. :)) How was your holiday bro?” 7:20:15 PM 12/01/08 “it was fracking awesome. i cooked dinner for my whole family... turkey was awesome... moist and delicious. it was a "classic" meal and the first time i got to cook the dinner for everyone. so very rewarding. how did yours go? i am going under the knife in two weeks... i think i talked about this to you. finally going to get this think fixed so i can get on with my life. i am more than a little freaked. ok, now i am waaay off topic for this thread. lol!” 7:24:48 PM 12/01/08 “aw, screw the thread topic. Our's was good. We got together on Sat night due to conflicting work scheds. but it was a nice time. Dude, you'll be in my thoughts. I'm sure all will be fine. You are young and fit. Just take it easy and follow the doc's orders. No weighted inverted sit-ups, or power squats for a while, and you will be good to go. Gotta get it done now or sacrifice the GC, and you DON'T wanna do that! I applied for colledge finally over the weekend too. So hopefully I'll finally get the ball rolling on that VERY soon. This shlt pay and job are killing me. Odd how the folks who work the hardest are so poorly compensated. That will never make sense to me. I'm on mandatory 55 hour weeks, but that is stretching into 60+ real fast. I'm so tired of being on my feet my butt even hurts, and that is really saying something. Two more days though, and i can rest for one. Thursday I'm not even answering the phone. LOL! Well, I'm wiped out. Going to bed. Later.” 8:06:14 PM 12/01/08 “NANKOWEAP 2009!” 8:37:18 PM 12/01/08
