And is it only October
I've been thinking of my year and I decided that this year I have spent the most time out ever - granted there are those of you who have me beat by a Nepal mile but I can't believe this:
January:
Winterfest - Shasta
Snow Camping - Badger Pass Area
March
Snow Camping - Yosemite Area
April
Ohlone Wilderness - Del Valle
May
Clouds Rest - Yosemite
June
Mount Whitney
July
One Week Car Camping Don Pedro
August
One Week BP Ansel Adams Wilderness
September
Labor Day Boat-In Camping
October
Hetch Hetchy (this week-end)

Wow - has it been a good year?

i think i've slept in my bag twice this year. prolly get about that much next year too. my gear's getting dusty.
i'll get my degree at the end of december 06 and we'll be moving to knoxville or asheville shortly after. spring of 07 will be catchup time. i hate doing the adult thing and taking care of my responsibilities instead of having fun.
i've also seen how much hiking helped me be lean. it's hard to fit those pizza and beer binges in when i can't go walk 30 miles over the weekend.

Looks like you have had a great season. Wish I had been out half as much this year.

Sounds Cool! There's some nice trips you have listed.

Some friends and I hiked the Ohlone Wilderness from Sunol to Del Valle. It is a great winter time hike. The night we spent on Mt. Rose was scenic but the air traffic....holy cow!!!

You going to Hetch Hetchy this week end? I work for Hetch Hetchy and have access to remote cabins available only to employees and nobody ever stays there. Now you know....next time.

I've come close to going on one of the Winterfest trips at Lassen. We go to Cottonwood every New Years.

It's been a terrible year for me. Last weekend was the first time I put my pack on since early July.

It feels really good to be sleeping outside, huh? It was a good year for me, too.

3 Nights Late May. Not doing good this year. Had a bunch of stuff come up. Hopefully hit the trail a few times this winter.

I have been, but last night I looked over and a bear was under my tarp checking out my bed roll. See "Bear Encounters."

Been "camping" in the Mighty Mighty Tacoma since April. I could count on one hand the number of bed nights I've had since then.

The truck has evolved into quite the camper. I remodeled the back in early summer. Cabinets, drawers, fixed lighting, etc.

I unpacked the Slumberjack only last week - up until now I've needed no cover. Do I still get credit for "bag" nights?

I can't wait for the time to come when I'll hafta pull out the TNF Snowshoe (zero degree).
