You're gonna need that money to pay for all the repairs the car is going to need -- that will ever so cleverly be needed just outside the warranty terms. Just about everyone I know, myself included, have had really bad experiences with Chrysler cars.

There may be minor bugs because it’s in it’s first model year but the major components like the engine and transaxle are already in use by either Chrysler or Mercedes.”

I disagree w/ Phantom. I've owned numerous cars in my years of driving. Most were Chrysler products, just by chance. I've had the most problems w/ the Ford I had years ago and, now, with my Subaru. The Chryslers have treated me well, consistently.”

“Oh yeah. RE the car, I am not sure what you guys are interested in but sounds like he had a sporty ride. Definintely give the Mazda 3 a look. My wife rented one recently, the mini-wagon version, and it was really swift and had great handling. Has gotten good write ups and gets about 35 MPG on the hwy, I think. Of course, it's Japanese as well so it will just go and go.

Have friends that say the resale value on the Subies isn't so great but all my friends that have them like them.

“tree never go into a dealer call them and tell them what you want and have them fax you the price. If you go to the dealer you are in their territory and they have you. They have a hard time telling you what the price is they just tell you what your monthly note will be. Try to get financing before you go or they will add things to the price to make an extra $$$$ you can always ask them what they can give you financing for, tell them what you rate you already have. But the main thing is never go into the dealer looking to buy. You might check out some of the online car dealers like www.cardeals.com there are more. That is my two cents worth and more the extra will not cost you anything either.

I now own a 2006 Subaru Legacy SE Wagon. They wanted it off the lot pretty badly too.

Two problems with the car. It lacks power off the line. Sight lines are bad--lots of blind spots. A friend has an '01, same model. Says the same things.”

Thing is, all the turbo subaru engines are the same engine (last I really looked) so then WRX engine go fast stuff will fit. So theoreticly you can make any of those cars into a sleeper WRX STI.

But honestly, I did't plan on doing any real power modding to this car. The thing already has more power than my beloved GTI VR6. Heavier too though.”
