Car shopping......two cents wanted, plea se.View Messages“You don't keep a car very long, do you?” 3:14:05 PM 3/03/06 “Refridgerated glove box with bottle holders for my beer i see a dui in nigal's future” 3:15:11 PM 3/03/06 “whoohoo nigal. where we going?” 3:16:43 PM 3/03/06 ““You don't keep a car very long, do you?” I'm rolling over my Jeep after 4 1/2 years. Finally I won't be spending so much on gas. Noncom- the lazer cannon only comes on the SR/T.” 3:17:16 PM 3/03/06 “4 & 1/2 ain't long, but that is about the useful life of most American autos.” 3:19:48 PM 3/03/06 ““whoohoo nigal. where we going?” Gemini 4:16:43 PM 3/03/06 Pffft.....ya didn't say that when I bought my minivan.....” 3:20:02 PM 3/03/06 “gettin rid of the jeep???!!!...unthinkable” 3:21:49 PM 3/03/06 “It looks like a pontiac vibe.” 3:21:54 PM 3/03/06 “It would probably be worth more on trade in if you didn't flip it over. That's hell on the paint. last edited: 3/03/06 3:23:27 PM” 3:22:58 PM 3/03/06 “is that the caliber?” 3:28:37 PM 3/03/06 “ ![]() this would hold more gear” 3:30:52 PM 3/03/06 “"One free year of satalite radio MP3 player jack 115V plug Refridgerated glove box with bottle holders for my beer Better MPG (26/32)" -Nigal You're gonna need that money to pay for all the repairs the car is going to need -- that will ever so cleverly be needed just outside the warranty terms. Just about everyone I know, myself included, have had really bad experiences with Chrysler cars. But then again, who knows? Maybe they have turned a new leaf. Anyway, good luck with that...” 4:51:40 PM 3/03/06 “My last eight vehicles have all been Mopar and I have had very little trouble with them. My only gripe was the lack of gas mileage and now that’s solved. There may be minor bugs because it’s in it’s first model year but the major components like the engine and transaxle are already in use by either Chrysler or Mercedes.” 11:10:02 PM 3/03/06 “Good for you, Nig. I disagree w/ Phantom. I've owned numerous cars in my years of driving. Most were Chrysler products, just by chance. I've had the most problems w/ the Ford I had years ago and, now, with my Subaru. The Chryslers have treated me well, consistently.” 9:09:44 AM 3/04/06 “Was the Ford the one with the Dukes of hazard horn Tarabull? Looks cool Nigal! Good luck getting the Mrs. to let you drive it, much less put beers in the glove box. ;)” 9:12:08 AM 3/04/06 “Tell me about it sass. This is her third new car to my one. Somebody's gettin screwed and I think it's me! LOL! She'll take better care of it than I will any way. I keep finding cool little things out about it. The rear hatch light pops out and is an LED flashlight.” 9:19:46 AM 3/04/06 “Yes, that was the one, Sass. lol” 9:21:44 AM 3/04/06 “Awesome. I'm glad you guys found something you both like. Rememeber that commercial where one memeber of the couple kept on getting up earlier than the other to be the one to drive the cool car? You could always come home from work and move the car around the block, to ensure you get to drive it that day.” 9:23:58 AM 3/04/06 “LOL! I was up at 6:30 this morning so I could get the radio subscription going and then I selflessly offered to drive the 25 minutes to buy my wife starbucks.” 9:26:44 AM 3/04/06 “Yeah, I figured as much, lol! My little escort that I had as my first car didn't last too long either. I think it may have had something to do with checking the oil and leaving the cap off acidentally, then driving it for a month! I had that thing up on two wheels once. Stupid kid, it's a wonder I survived.” 9:26:58 AM 3/04/06 “Well, HPM's car, a volkswagen gti vr6, which got rearended in October, just experienced the automotive version of the ebola virus. He's headed to the Subaru dealership to look around. I expected to get him a new car in 2007, but right now, in the middle of building one house while trying to sell another in 2 separate states, at effing Christmastime, just sucks. Ah, such is life. THings happen in groups or clusters every time.” 4:57:19 PM 12/11/06 “hang in there treebait :) How is the house thing going? any buyers yet?” 5:02:50 PM 12/11/06 “Nope, no buyers but 2 showings last week and one viewer during an open house this weekend.” 5:04:04 PM 12/11/06 “I love my 2001 Forester. Does great in snow, ice, mud and doesn't use much gas.” 5:14:48 PM 12/11/06 “Treebait. U Guys are leaving FLA? To where?” 5:19:01 PM 12/11/06 “Oh yeah. RE the car, I am not sure what you guys are interested in but sounds like he had a sporty ride. Definintely give the Mazda 3 a look. My wife rented one recently, the mini-wagon version, and it was really swift and had great handling. Has gotten good write ups and gets about 35 MPG on the hwy, I think. Of course, it's Japanese as well so it will just go and go. Have friends that say the resale value on the Subies isn't so great but all my friends that have them like them. last edited: 12/11/06 5:30:18 PM” 5:21:26 PM 12/11/06 “tree, check your e-mail :)” 5:25:59 PM 12/11/06 “Toyota” 6:49:30 PM 12/11/06 “tree never go into a dealer call them and tell them what you want and have them fax you the price. If you go to the dealer you are in their territory and they have you. They have a hard time telling you what the price is they just tell you what your monthly note will be. Try to get financing before you go or they will add things to the price to make an extra $$$$ you can always ask them what they can give you financing for, tell them what you rate you already have. But the main thing is never go into the dealer looking to buy. You might check out some of the online car dealers like www.cardeals.com there are more. That is my two cents worth and more the extra will not cost you anything either. last edited: 12/11/06 7:03:20 PM” 7:01:34 PM 12/11/06 “Done deal. I now own a 2006 Subaru Legacy SE Wagon. They wanted it off the lot pretty badly too. Thanks for the tip Don. I research cars long before I buy. I'll miss the GTI, that sucker was a blast to drive. Hell on wheels. last edited: 12/11/06 7:09:49 PM” 7:08:15 PM 12/11/06 “Have a 2003 Subaru Legacy Wagon. Bought it new when the 2004's were coming out. Used several net sites, where the dealers send e-mail quotes. Walked in, after the guy wrote up the deal, he gave me a better deal than he e-mailed me. Two problems with the car. It lacks power off the line. Sight lines are bad--lots of blind spots. A friend has an '01, same model. Says the same things.” 10:44:04 PM 12/11/06 “Wow,we're now a 2 Subaru family. ;)” 7:55:31 AM 12/12/06 “I think there may be a SAAB in California or maybe still in Oregan that the Kim family might let go cheap.” 8:04:56 AM 12/12/06 “Yay! I am glad yall got a new truk!” 3:10:58 PM 12/12/06 2006 Subaru Legacy SE Wagon “HPM is officially 'an old settled fart' now. ;-)” 3:14:35 PM 12/12/06 “Hey SS, he actually got it for cheaper than my car! Go figure!” 3:15:32 PM 12/12/06 “Don't make me tweak it out. I've got a socket set and I know how to use it buster!” 3:32:05 PM 12/12/06 “That would be funny! The kids around here love nothing more than to soup up rice burners. Damn things sound like a million bumblebees as they scream down the roads.” 4:05:42 PM 12/12/06 “Those chumps are all about the looks. I'm all about performance.” 4:52:03 PM 12/12/06 “And you got a legacy?? :)” 10:49:58 AM 12/13/06 “Yep, sure did. If I had a more Ks I'd have bought the GT or even the spec B version if it came in wagon form. Spec B is quite nice but not in the cards right now.” 10:54:12 AM 12/13/06 “Should've gone for the WRX STI :) last edited: 12/13/06 11:48:53 AM” 11:48:39 AM 12/13/06 “That would have been a load 'o fun but it's too small for my life right now. I was originally thinking Forester XT. Thing is, all the turbo subaru engines are the same engine (last I really looked) so then WRX engine go fast stuff will fit. So theoreticly you can make any of those cars into a sleeper WRX STI. But honestly, I did't plan on doing any real power modding to this car. The thing already has more power than my beloved GTI VR6. Heavier too though.” 12:37:44 PM 12/13/06 “I understand. Maybe in a couple of years you could chip it and do the air box. Also, you should get used to that longer wheel base...” 12:48:41 PM 12/13/06
