An alternate username for a regular user was created and subsequently used to post one of their old "dirty tricks" in an attempt to get unknowing users to click on misleading information to disrupt their use of their computer. In this case the misleading information was a supposed link to the email the admin of this site to report problems.

I originally asked for an email address to send the administrator of this site information about a problem I thought the board was experiencing. The user in question used a phony alias and a misleading HTML link to redirect me to a Trojan Horse that disrupted service on my computer. Perhaps you think the administrator of this site thinks that’s fine. I don’t think they would.”

“I have clicked on that link before and thought it was funny as hell at the time and in the context. I did fall for it a second time because I had not associated the alias with the posting ID. I don't read the flame threads or post there. I am new to the board and have a much more difficult time keeping up with who is who, especially with all these "Halloween" names. So while it was funny once it was not funny at all to me in the context of this thread.”

“I have not been able to upload pics, either, Ewker. I asked for help on a Matt thread, heard nothing back, and just gave up. Webshots lets you post a pic here now anyways.

But, the pic would upload, and then nothing in the album. I think it has something to do with Java but I have uninstalled and reinstalled that so many times, it can't be that. I used all the help links I could find. SO now I just say....
