Plastic,hot,cold,dring water
I know this was discussed a few weekes ago in great detail but I received a very authentic e-mail warning about freezing and heating plastic. I checked the Urban ledgends and found this. Who do you belive on the internet. Both the warning and the letter came from John Hopkins.

Well, believe the article that was actually posted on Johns Hopkins' website, since emails can be manipulated before being forwarded, and can say anything.

I wouldn't believe the e-mail. Universities aren't in the habit of sending out e-mails to warn the public. Generally, they put out publications, give lectures, do research, etc

Yes, nearly every email "warning" you receive is either bogus, or contains inaccuracies.

Snopes.com is a good place to check out things you receive in email.
