“Haven't noticed Nigal around today.
Did he start that 2 week class for the nursing assist training he was talking about the other day?
I think he was planning on class, full time work, and getting by on 4 hours of sleep a day for two weeks.”

“Day one is done and day two is getting ready to start. I get off school at 4 and get to work at 9 pm and then back to school right after work at 7 am. The only break I'm getting is this coming weekend when I get to go drinking, er, I mean 'hiking' with birch. And as if this isn't enough I'm being terrorized by mail now. I found this in my mailbox...

LOL! Weeeeeell, actually I ate breakfast IN the bathroom. LOL! It was breakfast bars and coffee and there was no flying fecal matter.

It's a funny experience going to this class because not only am I the only guy all the girls are about half my age. Do you know what it's like having to say "labia" in front of a dozen girls while keeping a straight face?”

“Yes they giggle all the damn time at me. they all laughed at me when I was doing a skill check off and accidently ripped the arm off the practice dummy. I get chosen for all the guy stuff. I had to sit there and let all the women shave me today.”

“[sigh] No. there was a screw up on my part about my TB test so I wasn't able to go into the facility and do my three days of clinics. So I have to wait until the middle of Novemeber to make it up with the next class. Nothing good is ever easy.”

“I was wondering about that. Anyway, keep on trying!”

“I'm taking a course to become a state licenced nursing assistant. The nurse passes meds and we do everything else. I'm hoping to get into a hospital but would not refuse working in a nursing home as that is where I can make the most difference. the only down side is you understaffed and responcable for 10-13 people a shift.”

“are you going for CNA II?”

“Nigal I was considering doing that myself. Since I already work in a hospital they would reinburse the cost of the education if I choose to take it.”

I'm not sure. They give us the basics and then if we go into a hospital they teach us who to draw blood, do some internal stuff and call us Patient Care Techs.”

“Well I’m finally done with my classes! I had my big lab test for the course this morning and passed with flying colors. I was one question away from getting straight A’s throughout the whole course. I still have my big state certification lab tests to go but at least I can start looking for the next great job.”
