OK, how about reconditioned G6?

“Remember, I broke my G5 camera by dropping it??

Here's the deal from Canon, which it looks like we're going for here at work:

Canon offers a "reconditioned" G6 upgrade -- with warranty for 6 months -- for $299 (I think it's $499 new). Then I return the G5 to them in a box sent when the G6 arrives.

They said the G5 repairs could be $175 to $400. (Then it would be "reconditioned," eh?)

I'd rather go for the G6 (that someone else dropped, lol). ;-P

Uses same cards, charger, etc. I think I remember hearing it does not have a remote available, but I have never used that anyway with the G5.

I'm starting to feel less sick about dropping the camera..... Unless you guys all rip the G6, lol!! And tell me to get one on Ebay. However, I do like the idea Canon has repaired the camera I'll be getting.

It's weird, they had implied it wouldn't include compact flash card, but it included a Canon 32 MB
