Fall Colors at Tahoe & a Hike W/ Pepper dog!

“I had a chance to hike with Pepperdog & Olive Oyl..I meant them both last summer here in Tahoe at the Big Meadows trailhead..they were off on a backpacking trip..I just went to the TH to at least meet them and say hello! So it was nice to finally be able to hike with them!

They wanted to see some fall color, so they drove up to the Tahoe area, I meant them down in Hope Valley. We then drove to the Charity Valley TH and hiked in for about 3 miles. We did see some fall color, a lot of leaves on the ground already, and even a grove that was all brown. We saw one huge red tree in full color. We had a nice lunch spot over looking the Markleeville area and enjoyed our lunch! Had a great hike back out. Pepperdog had her three beautiful doggies with her, Ticha, Delta & Pepper, they all had a fun time..lots of water along the way for them to swim in. They are really good dogs on the trail & I sure enjoyed having them along!

Fall color 2005 at Tahoe

I have really been enjoying the fall colors right close to my home...going out the last few days each day to see them and walk around in the aspens....Buck, Windwalker, Paige, Bearcrossing, Snownymph, Hikenmike, USA what is the secret to taking good pictures of aspens trees? Is it the right light? Seems like the bright sun really washes out the colors...Any advice sure would be appreciated :)

It was a beautiful day for a hike and I got to see such pretty colors. I know all the East Coasters wouldn't be impressed by the color but I think the Sierra is pretty darn pretty this time of year! Thanks to Anita for introducing me to a great little hike!”
