McGuyver
1990-Oct 19, 2005

The best doggie ever. Some people have said they don't like dogs but they love McGuyver.

McGuyver loved Frosty Paws, pig ears, blueberry muffins, kisses, walks, opening Christmas presents, camping, sleeping. He liked to climb to the highest point. He loved to sit outside and bask in the sun and take in the smells.

He loved everybody.

His mommy and daddy will love him forever.

Thank you buddy. You are the best doggie ever.

Hey Sarge, nice tribute. Lotta years there! Sounds like a great dog and even better, sounds like he was treated very well. I'm sure he'll be missed.

Most dog owners are pathetically lonely, psychologically isolated, mentally inept, and in need of social interaction on any level. The people who feel a need to develop a relationship with a blindly loyal (and stunningly unintelligent) animal such as a dog often are those who are too socially crippled to manage a relationship with a sentient, discriminating creature such as a human being.

If you insist on owning a dog, perhaps you had better reassess the reasons for your misguided dependence on this ignoble animal. Your problem may be that you are afraid to deal with creatures on an equal basis in trying to get the love and attention you need.

Nice! Is that why you masturbate constantly Violin? Can't own a dog where you live?

Violin - Actually, I bought McGuyver for an ex-girlfriend from the SPCA. When we broke up she decided to give him to me for the exact opposite reason you mentioned. She was having some emotional difficulties as a result of her hypoglacemia. I "aquired" him via someone else's wishes, not as a gift to myself as somebody in need of a companion. Nevertheless, thanks for the tips, as misguided as they were.

Thank you everybody for your thoughts.

Sorry to hear about your loss Sarge. People here have said that living with a dog makes them better people. My wife says the same, that it was having a dog and having children that did the most to enlarge her heart.

I know Violin was just trolling you, but I have to respect showing love and loyalty to a good dog.

Must be nice to be a fatcat republican who can lavish money on a dog for Frosty Paws and blueberry muffins, and then complain about paying taxes for food stamps for poor people.

USA - you don't seem to be hurting for travel money. Just one of those trips you post pictures of could keep a lot of dogs in Frosty Paws and blueberry muffins for years.

It is ... very nice likely.

I'm not a republican, so I'm not certain, but it's fun to dream, isn't it USA?

PS - I love giving money to help the poor. I just don't like a committee doing it for me. You'd prefer a committee of politicians to do it for you? Odd. Some people need help thinking for themselves, I suppose.

Farewell, McGuyver.

So sorry for your loss, Sarge. I think it's pathetic that some people here are so personally invested in negativity that they feel the need to post anything but heartfelt sympathy here.

Some people, despite their differences, have the maturity to hold their tongue in times like these...other people missed that particular lesson (kindergarten, I believe it was?) where they taught you not to just blurt out whatever pops into your tiny mind.

peace.

Personally, I appreciate AmyG's indignation.
It would be nice if we showed a little more respect for our common humanity, human emotions, for love and loyalty and the dogs who both exemplify those virtues and cultivate them in the humans whose lives they touch.

It's ok pedxing. I understand that some people confuse conservatism with mean spiritedness, and feel that have to "retaliate".

Nothing they can say can take away from the awesome spirit that was my dog, and their remarks only further enhance the relative value of his love for others.

Oh please.

Sarge has seen other people’s misfortune and death as an opportunity to troll and post the most hateful things.

I don’t see myself as a hateful person. It was difficult to make my first post on this thread (I’ve always owned dogs myself), but the teaching opportunity was just too pregnant.
