Carson Peak is in the Ansel Adams Wilderness “Dayclimbed Carson Peak, out of the June Lake Loop. Weather changed on us all day long. . . sunny, windy, snow flurries, more sun, more snow flurries, whiteout, then it cleared as we approached the summit. Great views! The first 2 miles was on steep trail, then the rest was xctry. 7.7 mi r/t, with 3600' el gain/loss Photos: http://community.webshots.com/album/479035918cGKSzn” 11:11:34 PM 10/19/05 “Didja find any frozen bodies encased in glacier ice?” 8:23:19 AM 10/20/05 “Beautiful!!! Thanks for the pictures.” 8:35:53 AM 10/20/05 “Enjoyed your pics. The snowing pics were neat. How cold was it?” 8:43:10 AM 10/20/05 “Great shots! I am glad I finally got to see Thousand Island Lake! Beautiful pictures of course! Cool to see snow. Thanks!” 8:55:19 AM 10/20/05 “Really neat perspective, looking at Thousand Island Lake from so far above. Looks like it was pretty cold from how warmly you guys were dressed.” 6:41:32 PM 10/20/05 “Thanks! BM, No . . . but Skibum e-mailed Thurs and said he just returned from Mendel Glacier. He was the guy chipping the body out of the ice (it was on CNN). I had a feeling he was there and e-mailed him. WOW! Tango, Carson Peak is above Agnew Pass. I think your route was close to there. You would have been going in that direction, then there's a big descent/ascent to get to Thousand Island. Yes, it was cold out there. I had to put my trekking poles away because my fingers were frozen.” 2:01:41 AM 10/24/05
