Any word on Nimblefoot?

“I know he was going to try and finish his last 5 or so miles and tag the end of his journey on Wed. of this past week. I was just wondering if anyone heard anything from him since. I know how scarce communication can be in Baxter.

I've posted this numerous times. I'm going to post it once more just for you. After that, if somebody seems to really not get it, I'll just email them. This is getting very old.

If I would post under a new name (which I considered at first) I would be lying. Not troll-Sarge, but me. I would have to pretend not to be Sarge, and sooner or later it would come up. Maybe on trailtalk, maybe on a hike next year, whenever. The point is by posting under the Sarge name (which originally wasn't a troll name), all cards are on the table. The fact is it would be lying to post under a different name. That is why I kept "Sarge".

Regarding my credibility, read on. I have always maintained and done what I said I would do. If anything, I've stuck to my word over the last year. (again, read on for elaboration)

Yes nowslimmer, I admitted to being a troll. But what you might not have realized is that I admitted to being a troll well over a year ago. "Sarge" started as just me, not a troll. There are several people who simply BASHED me for my viewpoints (sans me trolling). I called them on it and two of them actually backed off. I BEGGED AND PLEADED with these people to have a civil conversation with me when we debated, but they refused. It was pure playground bashing. SO (and here's the key point) I told them that I would come back twice as hard whenever somebody acted uncivil towards me. I repeated that pledge many times over the last year or so. Maybe you missed it, maybe you didn't, but troll-Sarge was never supposed to be a secret. Originally I wasn't even trying to make a point, I was just trying to talk to certain people as they only know how. Eventually it got more and more out of hand as every conversation I got into turned into bash-Sarge (because others joined in), so I just kept to my pledge.

I am nobody else on here (although mountainpeak was an experiment to see if people would talk to a conservative with my views in a civil fashion when they go unprovoked - most did not).

People thought I was unbelieveable. Between the purposeful trolling and the talking about personal achievements in my life, people thought I was completely fictitious. I never lied (until the death of sarge thing - which by the way, WAS a friend of mine).

I got out of hand twice. By "out of hand" I mean I "trolled" somebody unprovoked. Over a year period, I don't think that's too bad, but I felt very sorry when I did it. Those two people got an email from me. I didn't post it on here because I wanted them to know I was sincerely sorry. They both were very understanding, and one male actually said my apology made him cry because it was so heartfelt. I never posted it on here because it was between me and them. Anybody else (aside from those two), the other person provoked me in an uncivil or hateful manner first. I just was keeping my pledge and coming back at them twice as hard.

People can easily dish it out, but can rarely take it.

Anyways, I felt as if it was getting out of hand.

Certain people (maybe like yourself), had no idea how troll-Sarge started and just started hating me not knowing the history behind troll-Sarge.

I decided to put an end to it, and put up the death of troll-Sarge thread. EVERYBODY reacted just as I told my friend they would. People didn't believe it. Somebody (I think crash) even posted that he thought it was just a way to end a troll-character. He was right.

Anyways, the bottom line is the troll-Sarge over the last year is gone. He was there as a reflection of the type of hate that I recieved as a conservative on a mostly tree-hugger website. If any of these liberals go on a mostly conservative site, they'd probably get the same treatment. Anyways, I'm done retaliating. I'm done stooping to that level. I will joke around and throw locker-room type jabs back and forth as long as I think it's in good-fun.

If you don't want to hear what I have to say, just put me on ignore. That's what it's for. But when people like yourself continually say over and over and over and over again that they don't think I have credibility, or whatever, it's comes across as just an excuse to argue than to make a point.

I can see why that would confuse you. The person in question (a troll himself purporting to currently be in the military) claimed he could look up my IP address when I post and tell exactly who I am (real name, address, etc..) It had nothing to do with another trailtalk alias. I was teasing him b/c it was obvious he wasn't in the military by his poor use of military terminology, so I needled him if he figured out who I was yet since obviously he was lying about all his claims.
