I could not stand the suspense and went to bed after 12 innings thinking the Astros will surely win this game with all the runners they had on base during the extra innings. Unbelievable.

GO SOXS.

Oooo boy. I am tired. I stayed up until the 12th also. Then Jon called me around 1-something I think it was and it was in the 14th. I turned on the tv, but couldn't keep my eyes open and then went to bed. I think the game winning HR was probably hit right after that.

So will it be a sweep?

My first MLB game was a White Sox game when I was 11 or so. I don't remember much except the feeling of excitement and the fireworks that went off when a grand slam was hit.

Yeah so they may have won. It's just because Houston doesn't have any black players.

WOW!!!!!

Just came upstairs from the ticker tape parade. It went down the LaSalle Street "canyon" which is the street my office is on. I brought Tucker with me to work today to experience this mayhem with the tens of thousands of people out there. We had great position right on the parade fence. What an exhilerating experience!!!!

LOL GB!

This was my first ticker tape parade ever. The cop told us they had 10 tons of confetti on top of the buildings at the start of the parade.

Now my problem is that my dep this afternoon is on LaSalle Street at the first building on the north side of the Chicago River. Right now the ceremony is happening on LaSalle and Wacker, on the south side of the river. My normal 6 block walk will take 45 minutes to get around it all.

Oh enjoy it while you can Ruby. The Sox take 88 years. God knows how long the Cubbies will take (less time if they ban Steve Bartman).

We had a team that won more often, but Kansas City stole them from us, and then Oakland stole them from Kansas City.

You should see the clean up now out there. They've got rows of snow plows going down the street three wide and then rows of dump trucks following behind them. A while ago all I could hear was the roar of people shouting coming from the ceremony. Now all I can hear is the beep, beep, beep, beep of the trucks.

But even after they clean up the street, there is still lots of paper on every ledge and window sill of every building and on the scaffolds of all the buildings whose facades are being worked on. And inside the buildings all the floors are a wreck from the confetti that is falling off the people. I feel sorry for the cleaning crews of all the LaSalle Street buildings today.
Ruby

Pity them not. They get paid a perfectly miserly pittance to clean it up.
