Posting Photos
I would like to share some of the photos I took on my 100 miler in the Smokies but am hesitent about what .com I should use to post my photos with. I have used webshots in the past but that one seems to bring in alot of junk into my computer plus I don't like the way it freezes up the link when you try to disengage from it. Does anyone have a suggestion about which photo post service they use? Thanks, quietone.

Do I first need to call up my pictures in my file and then refer to them? I realize this is a simple process but I am haviving a bit of a time after starting the album to find the pics in my computer.

I used my Olympus program. I have called that up and now have them in "browse" mode. I will attemptto put them into the album here.

quietone: yeah, you just need to see where on your puter the files are saved.. then once you know that -- the rest is a piece of cake.

Just stay away from the yellow cake.

For crying out loud..... Iam going to finish a few more chores and try this again. I did have a blast until around day six when the kind ladies at Mountain Mama's wispered to me that in three days we will have snow on the ground and not just flurries that the weatherman is calling for. Above 3000 ft we got 2-4 inches . My truck was at the other end of my hike. I had a blast to say the least. Met several families and south-bounders in those two weeks. Did forget my gloves though. I wore my other pair of treking socks on the last day's final 19 or so mile push breaking trail all the way. Had to get the Rangers to unlock the gate (smokemont entrance) to let me out. Was a bit close to HYPO by then and had to convince them I could still operate a motor vehicle . Made hot tea and changed clothes right there on the street. haha. Anyway I have vast sums of tennacity and will conqure this photo issue.

PEEEVVVEEEEDDDDD
Dnag nabit it has taken me the better part of this morning to finally get my HP loaded from my Olympus 800 and now the dad burn picture section here will not upload my album(176 pics) so that I can edit and caption some 20 or so real good shots..... I started in the Camera software and could not transfer the file to another section so I started a new one with this puter's own software and now this. #&%!$FIRE I give up.........for now. AH COZY///////////////////.

The picture-editing software that's doled out with digital cameras is infamously crappy.

I take it you had trouble getting the pictures off the camera? The best way to do that is to get a USB card reader for the type of flash memory that your camera uses. This makes your flash memory card look like a removable disk on your computer, and so you can simply copy the pictures to your hard drive using Windows Explorer. This is usually scads easier and faster than using the docking port or USB cable straight into your camera.

As far as having trouble with using the picture albums here on thebackpacker, well, you're gonna have to talk to Matt about that.

Yeah I got thru the puter software ok .. took some time ... but okay it's the second part that has me stymied... no worries mate it's coming together slowly but surely.... I spent the better part of a night finding a satellite that wasn't in it's proper orbit so me brain is a touch drained. I am probibly not double clicking or something like that so I will try later..
