It would be nice if the Giants would pick him up.

Philly won't make the playoffs w/o him.

Indeed he would. Lavarr Arrington probably needs something to punch every now and again.

We're not going to go far in the playoffs with or without him. The man is poison. The players are glad he's gone.

Somebody from San Fran warned me when the Eagles picked him up. Through the Super Bowl it looked like that assessment was wrong. It's not.

It's unfortunate, because the man has Hall of Fame level talent. Even when they don't throw to him, he's usually dragging two defenders along with him. They put up with his antics beyond the point where they'd put up with antics from most players.

I think at this point in this season, they should send Donovan off for surgery and look ahead to next season. I'm not comfortably seeing him out there with an injury every week.

I know what you mean about being "poison" on the team. When the Cubs unloaded Sosa, there were commentators who said they were crazy, regardless of his antics. Now it looks like Sosa will have a hard time finding a jersey to wear next year.

Of course, it's not like the Cubs did that much better without him. But at least they didn't have to deal with the friggin' salsa music in the clubhouse anymore, lol...

Good assessment, Geo. Sometimes, you have to drop back and punt, speaking figuratively as well as literally.

I don't want to see the Giants wind up with him. They have a promising young team that doesn't appear to be too full of itself. I would like to see these guys develop into their potential without the distraction of a guy like him...

I know you don't want him Treebeard, but those are the precise reasons I want the Grunts to have him. Hee Hee! (I'm evil, tell me something I don't know!)

Donovan is just not himself this year. His rookie year was better. It hurts to watch him out there. Better he should get the surgery and return maybe at the tail end of the season, or better yet during camp next summer.

I would definitly sit McNabb the rest of the season. Like you said, with TO in there he draggs two players with him. Without him in there it just frees up an extra defender to bring on the blitz... and the Eagles already have a hard enough time protecting McNabb.

It's embarrassing that he's from AL. He grew up about a 90 minute drive from where I live. I don't recall where he played college. It was a small school Alabama and Auburn didn't even recruit him, from what I understand.

On NFL.com, it gives his college as "Chattanooga". Must have been UT-Chattanooga...

That's the one, UTC. How bad would you feel if the best player that ever came out of your college was TO?

The Eagles didn't do too badly before they got him, and they'll do well without him. The division is so tight anyone could still qualify. No point in benching him until play-offs are impossible.

Where to begin ...

Badmouthed team and McNabb in SI interview. Apologized for half of that.

He's poison in the locker room.

Violated team rules that resulted from the summer episode.

The team has enough problems without an ongoing TO circus.

My GF at the time was TO's Calc tutor at UT-Chatanooga. I met him several times when he was there. Not sure what he is like now but at the time I had the impression he was a very nice, god fearing humble kid. Not sure what happened when he moved away.

"It would be nice if the Giants would pick him up.”

So you think he could fit into the number 5 spot in the rotation? Or middle relief?

I think if T.O. ever should play for the Eagles again, he should buff McNabb's helmet during a news conference!

The Least Attractive People Are In ...
PHILADELPHIA!

http://news.aol.com/story/_a/the-least-attractive-people-are-in-/20071022194309990001?ncid=NWS00010000000001

Philadelphia is home to the least attractive people in the United States, a survey of visitors and residents showed on Friday.

The city of more than 1.5 million people was also found to be among the least stylish, least active, least friendly and least worldly, according to the "America's Favorite Cities" survey by Travel & Leisure magazine and CNN Headline News.

About 60,000 people responded to the online survey -- at www.travelandleisure.com -- which ranked 25 cities in categories including shopping, food, culture, and cityscape, said Amy Farley, senior editor at the magazine.

For unattractiveness, Philadelphia just beat out Washington, D.C. and Dallas/Fort Worth for the bottom spot. Miami and San Diego are home to the most attractive people, the poll found.

But Farley pointed out the results don't mean people in Philadelphia are ugly or the city is a bad place to visit.

"We were asking people to vote on attractiveness, not unattractiveness. Travel & Leisure editors believe there are a lot of attractive people in Philadelphia," she said.

"The relative attractiveness of its residents is only a minuscule factor in evaluating a city's merit."

Philadelphians' self-esteem has been undermined by national surveys showing they are among the fattest people in the United States. The American Obesity Association ranked the city in the top 10 for overweight people every year between 2000 and 2005.

And sporting pride in a city known for the fierce loyalty of its fans has been hurt by not having had a national champion in any of its four main sports since the 76ers won the National Basketball Association title in 1983.

Proud to be doing my share, to keep my city humble.

(Actually I am almost never in Philly, and while I do root for the sports teams, I really don't think of myself as a Philly guy. That's just the nearest big city, and I don't like big cities.)
