hey anyone know anything about the Thunderswamp trail in northeast PA? A couple of us tried to hike it last year and ran into a washed out bridge and the water was far too high and cold to cross and there were no feasible crossings closeby that we could find. We ended up having to do a massive roadwalk. Anyone know if that bridge has been rebuilt yet?

I have an itch to hike that trail for some reason. The campsite on the Bushkill creek is awesome.

don't worry about the stream crossing. Next time I will be prepared with my Wiggy Waders.

Pennsy, you want to hike that trail sometime in the next couple weeks? Next time I hike that trail I hope to not be hung over.

I can bring a pair of waders to share with the group too. The streams are not really that high around here so even if the bridge isn't rebuilt the waders should work fine. I used them on a hike with Calmwater3 up near the Pinchot trail last week and we got across a medium sized stream with no problems.

this weekend is no good, but I might be available next week, the weekend before T-day. No Granola mentioned something about a Pa trip elsewhere that weekend. Maybe you can persuade him to visit the "Swamp."

I doubt the bridge has been replaced - that usually takes years, especially in PA.

It's too bad they don't come in the same colors as my sexy booties, then I would really be fashionizzle.

A few dates to think about over the next couple of weeks if your hiking in PA.

Black Bear
Nov. 21-23

Extended Black Bear - This includes the Thuderswamp Trail area.
Nov. 28-Dec. 3

DEER (Antlered and Antlerless) Statewide
Nov. 28-Dec. 10

I don't know about the bridge on the Thuderswamp Trail, but I know of another bridge in Delaware State Forest that was washed away in the same storm and it has yet to be replaced.

Christ! You guys going back to this rock pile again? You know that I'll probably end up coming along though, but only because of that really cool campsite along the Bushkill Creek...
