OH MY GOD..making it more cost effective for the lower classes...that mean class warfare takes another one ...There has to be a connection with Bush and Black Helicopters in this...Come on Libbies put on your Aluminum foil hats and join in.

By the way I think Foil is cheaper at Walmart (FYI)

the key to why is here:
a move that could force rival pharmacies to do the same."

lets not start sucking sam waltons dork just yet
at the very least, its a PR move. at the worst, its a calculated move to force out more competition. wal-mart figures there will be a few competitors that cant or wont match their price-slashing, so they lose business and wally world gets to squeeze a little bit tighter.

also, id like to see them define "widely-prescribed drugs" and "sharply reduced prices" what? 20 percent off chronic anal wort cream?

Crash, too bad you know absolutely nothing about business, or why a company might do something like this.

Guess what, the employess will BENEFIT from this rather significantly! You know.. the EMPLOYEE's that the leftists here all claim Wally doesn't care about?

How's the odor up there where you keep your head?

The thing a lot of people don’t understand is that when business is allowed to prosper charitable giving is a natural by product. When businesses are strapped with high taxes they tighten the boot straps and stem the flow of money going out the door. Google announced that they would be giving away $1 billion to charities and Richard Branson of virgin is giving away $10 billion.

If we step back and let business do what it does best we all benefit.

I ticked 'em off today. bought strawberries.
they had them listed next to each other one side priced 2.44 the other side 2.48.

they rang up as 2.48, so I complained. after she checked the price she told me that they are priced twice. I said I know, but I grabbed them from the 2.44 section.

there policy is that they have to give them to you for free if they screw up the price. :)

now continue with your political discussion. :)

Hey, I think this is a good thing.

I think the intent is to create more store traffic.

If someone goes to pick up the prescriptions there, they might buy groceries, too.

And since they are generics, they probably hired some factory in the Philippines to make the pills.

So, I think once they roll this out in Michigan, I'll price my dad's meds and see if we can get them cheaper.

But I'll walk right out the door because Walmart groceries are expensive.

A flat fee of $4.00. And there are 100 commonly prescribed medications ones used for things such as treating Diabetes and high blood pressure.

Of course it’s about getting people in the door. Why is that so bad? Besides this if someone comes in with a fist full of scripts what are the chances they’re going to fill the $4 scripts and not the non-$4 scripts? It’s great business. It will also effect prices everywhere else too. Competition drives down prices. Every single time.

And if they get some kudos for selling drugs cheap, so be it. But for some to call it a cheap pr stunt? Wallmart could give everything away and the dumbasses would claim it was evil.

I haven't seen a list Ruby but there are 300 meds on the list. I think it'll be a long time before this thing goes nationwide if it even does.

Did anyone else see CVS and Walgreen stocks took a downward turn when Walmart announced their plans?

Nope, Crash, it's the Feminazis that are causing the problems.
It creates a hostle work enviroment for women if a man accidently views a naughty picture.
Have you not had the mandatory training about this. I'm shocked if you have not, as you have worked in an office before.

LOL
I just had this year's training yesterday.
One of the examples was a women filed a sexual harrasment suit because a man kept farting in his office and she was offended.

lumber, I think it only works one way.
That's how most all of these suits go where I work.
Heck, I would be thrilled to be sexually harrased by most all the women I work with.
One of my married older female coworker friends I was sitting with, whispered to me "I wish someone would harrass me".

They just had General Mills cereals on sale at Meijer for $1.50 per box. We used a bunch of 50 cent coupons there. They double, so it was 50 cents per box.

If you don't have coupons, Aldi's always sells cereals for about $1.50 per box. And it's reasonably decent quality.

But, generally, I wait to buy cereal until I can pick it up for one dollar or less. Then I buy a lot.

One of the best places to shop around here is Giant Eagle. They double coupons up to $1. I go there and cherry pick every couple of weeks.

So, Walmart is fine. But being a consistent Walmart shopper is more expensive than the alternative. And, all things being equal, I'd rather shop at Meijer because it is based in Michigan.
