terrible. simply awful. first they go and employ 1.2 million americans, then they offer low prices on things people want and need... then they put stores in places all over the country where people can actually get to them... but when they started a program that offered "95 percent of the prescriptions written in the majority of therapeutic categories" for $4/month... well that was AWFUL! then... then... they started offering over 1000 over-the-country drugs at $4/month. i mean they should be regulated by the government or something. so they go and give something like 300 million (most in the form of CASH) to charities per year... the largest in all of corporate america...it OBVIOUSLY was a cover-up. don't shop at walmart!!!

Current events refresher:

Millions of Americans pay Walmart for some plastic crap.
Walmart pays the company with operations in China.
The Chinese gov't gets their cut.
The Chinese gov't props up the North Koreans and covers for them.
The North Koreans build missiles and nuclear devices to threaten us with.

(it gets better....)

Then we have to spend billions in taxes for a missile defense system to protect us from the missiles we helped pay for,   < GRIN >

Tilt your problem is that you are attacking the problem from the wrong end. You are saying that we Americans should spend more for American products (that are also shoddy), pay American workers more money, and charge American corporations more in taxes and business expenses. When maybe you should ask congress to let American worker/businesses be more competitive instead of hamstringing them with bureaucratic red tape and higher taxes that they will just pass on to the American consumer.

Currently the national average wage is around $20/hr. According to an earlier post, Tilt wants everyone to make $45 an hour. That's great until we increase the cost of everything by 225%. Then we will be right back to where we are now, buying foreign because its affordable.

I would flip burgars if I needed too, but I can make more money delivering pizzas and have more freedom as well. Or I suppose i could move into my Mom's basement. I hear that is a big thing for people these days.

marko, earlier in this thread Tilt posted a link (yeah, I know, be more specific) about some plant folding up in a town and a walmart coming into the town. he was complaining about the loss of $45 an hour factory jobs in exchange for $10 Walmart jobs. Seemed to me he thought $45 was a fair wage. he never disagreed when we commented on his wanting people to be paid $45/hr.

If Republicans want to work for minimum wage that's cool with me.   Take a vow of poverty --- whatever.   But they don't support a minimum wage do they?   Not even for themselves?   How noble!

Sometimes the wingnuts need to be reminded that those union people they hate so much are their fellow Americans.

And if they hate clean air and water so much, I hear the land is Really Cheap in Texas next to those oil refineries.   Life expectancy kinda sucks, though.

That's just your typical embellishment, HyWay.

I could comment on the rain in West Virginia and you might interpret that to mean that I want there to be flash floods in Timbuktu.

"Or I suppose i could move into my Mom's basement. I hear that is a big thing for people these days."

Ask Mutt about that. He is our resident "Momma's boy".

I didn't say there was anything wrong with moving into momma's basement. She brought you into this war, she should have to support you instead of the US government.

What embellishment. There is a direct correlation between tilt posting a link about $45 an hour workers and expecting that he believes that is a fair wage. There is no way rain in West Virginia could make a flood in timbuktu so I wouldn't claim that.

These guys just can't wait for the Chinese cars to roll out ----

This is what kills me: They dismiss the FRONTLINE report out of hand because they say the show is all left wing politics… even when the issue is the loss of American jobs to Communist China. < sarc > Seems like those damn Pinkos at Public Broadcasting would be beating the drum for all the suckers to send their dollars to the Commies!   LOL < /sarc >

But….. no.   Just the opposite.

Maybe that’s what has them so confused.

And while the dollars fly out of the country to the Commies, they piss and moan about Obama being a "socialist".

Now that's surreal; I doan kar hoo yoo ar.

Where to start....Minimum Wage.

http://www.bls.gov/cps/minwage2007.htm

ITS ENTRY LEVEL...for unskilled workers. Not a big shock there,

Minimum wage workers tend to be young. Although workers under age 25 represented only about one-fifth of hourly paid workers, they made up almost half of those paid the Federal minimum wage or less. Among employed teenagers paid by the hour, about 7 percent earned the minimum wage or less, compared with fewer than 2 percent of workers age 25 and over.

Tilty union thugs are fellow Americans...um so are our veterans but apparently you libbies have classified them a "potential threats to security".
