The better the service, the more the employee pays. Pretty simple. Ever since the kids were born, I up'd to the highest package. Every 2 weeks, $252.00 comes out of my check (pre-tax) along with $43.00 for dental. Total = $295.00 This entitles me to 90% coverage for all in-network services. On top of this, every member of the family has a deductible that has to be met before the 90% kicks in. Last year, this was $300 per person. This year, it jumped to $1,300! I think I would be better off canceling health insurance out right and bank the $295, and go to the ER for every sniffle the kids have.” 10:28:58 AM 10/06/09 “WK, why take them to the ER? A mob doctor won't ask any questions.” 10:33:35 AM 10/06/09 “I don't know why Dan Gwinn thinks it's such a turn-on to stick a Remington 1100 up his ass and I don't want to know.” 10:52:10 AM 10/06/09 “He was at one time the head of the NRA Abortion contortion repartotion and emotion commotion department.” 11:03:02 AM 10/06/09 “'I think I would be better off canceling health insurance out right and bank the $295, and go to the ER for every sniffle the kids have.' WK That's what gov does, they drive you to be illegal with everything. Taxes, health care, what you smoke, who you hire( a crew of illegals can be a gold mine), who you fire(previous cost savings), Where you live, how many kids you have(IRS madness) and who you are in war with.” 11:20:44 AM 10/06/09 “All Obama's fault” 11:22:55 AM 10/06/09 “So Tilty how's the Slumlord business going these days?..LOL” 12:21:24 PM 10/06/09 “Sass, I was not speaking of health/dental care for nonactive duty beneficiaries, but for active duty. As a retiree I pay the same per month as your do. My medical and dental may not be as great as some, but it's a whole lot better than what the local civilians are paying for and receiving. I don't know the circumstances of the guy with the anthrax vaccine, but would think there's more than meets the eye. If his disability was below 20%, depending on his years of active duty, he might be discharged with severance pay (2 months pay for every year of active duty, not to exceed something...) Even with severance pay, he would be able to go to the VA; that's what it's there for. If he cannot get into the VA, I'd suggest it's less than system design and more the Army not looking out for its' own. If you're under Tricare for dental and only getting 20%, something is wrong. Did you go to the tricare website and check for participating dentists? I seem to recall another approach on the dental issue with you being pregnant and possible harm to the fetus is an infection develops. If you had better insurance than what the military provides, then you had it better than most state employess in Wisconsin. Many I know are paying $800-$900 per month and getting crappy coverage. Oh, please don't get me started on the 'good old days':) They weren't that good, but I got through them and worked my way up through the system.” 12:23:43 PM 10/06/09 “No, I have normal tricare dental options, got the pamphlet right in front of me and go to a participating provider. 20% for sealants (that's Abby every visit w/ flouride these days), 30% for cleaning, 20% for office visit, 30% for oral surgery, 50% for orthodontic, 40% for general anesthesia, 0% for diagnostic (x-rays?), 0% for preventative. This is right from Tricaredentalprogram.com and the paper they gave us at predeployment briefing. And all we get is the office visit, sealant for B, and cleaning. Total comes to $270 for both of us. At $30.29 per month to not even cover it all why bother? I'd rather pay that amount right to the dentist. My Dad is retired military and I think his coverage is better. It also has to do w/ pay grade. The lower the lower coverage (ironically). All I know about the guy w/ MS is that he was supposed to deploy w/ Joe, got his shot, got MS, has 18 years in and is now being discharged. They won't even allow him to change his MOS so he can stay in for two more years and retire.” 1:35:04 PM 10/06/09 “That sucks.” 1:38:15 PM 10/06/09 “Yeah, perhaps my coverage is different. It sounds like what you should be liable for, not the government. That wasn't around when I was on active duty, so all the orthodontic work and all dental work was out of my pocket. Sounds like that guy got the shaft. I did a lot of work in disability processing and the key is appointing good counsel to represent the active duty member. The Coast Guard tends to take far better care of its own than the other services and I took it as a personal responsibility to ensure that all got what they were entitled to. Probably the best he can hope for is to appeal to his Congressman. I'd pay a nickel to see his paperwork, but without a VASRD (VA Schedule for Rating Disabilities), I could only guess. Being retired 17 years doesn't permit a lot of recall of the specifics of cumbersome manuals. I wonder if he didn't unknowingly waive some key rights? Just thinking out loud...I'd call my congressman. There's no way he wouldn't have VA entitlement, unless you're not getting the full story. With the problems you're having, I'd recommend getting hold of the unit ombudsman or C.O.'s wife. Sounds like you could use some support:)” 2:01:49 PM 10/06/09 “Enough with the thread degeneration already! BOSTON — A former pharmacist at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. who claimed she was fired after asking to be paid the same as her male colleagues is entitled to $2 million in damages awarded by a jury, the state's highest court ruled Monday. Cynthia Haddad was fired in 2004 after working more than 10 years for Wal-Mart, seven of them at a store in Pittsfield. Wal-Mart claimed she was fired because she left the pharmacy unattended and allowed a technician to use her computer security code to issue prescriptions during her absence. Haddad, however, claimed in a discrimination lawsuit that she was fired because she complained about being paid less than her male counterparts, including a bonus given to pharmacy managers. The company paid the bonus, then fired her two weeks later. In 2007, a jury found that the company discriminated against Haddad, and awarded her $1 million in compensatory damages and another $1 million in punitive damages. A judge later revoked the $1 million award for punitive damages, finding there was an insufficient basis for the jury's decision. But the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court reinstated the punitive damages and upheld the total $2 million award, ruling that the jury had enough evidence to find that Wal-Mart's stated motive for Haddad's firing was a pretext and that Wal-Mart acted with a "discriminatory animus." "There was evidence that Wal-Mart paid the plaintiff substantially less than less-experienced male pharmacists, refused to pay the plaintiff the pharmacy manager salary differential that it paid to male pharmacists, and terminated the plaintiff purportedly for a single policy violation but did not terminate male pharmacists for that or for more serious infractions involving violations of State and Federal law," Justice Judith Cowin wrote for the court in the unanimous, 7-0 ruling. Richard Fradette, one of Haddad's trial attorneys, said the decision was gratifying. "It's an endorsement of the professional female employee and the assurance that they will be paid equal to their male counterparts," said Fradette, who is also a pharmacist. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gaecXZqluQNmot-MiNrbXtY0nDNQD9B549BO0” 6:54:25 PM 10/06/09 “Vile must have been anally raped by Wal-Mart along with t*lt.” 6:57:01 PM 10/06/09 “They may have paid her less because she was a female, but they probably fired her because she was a #&%!$ ;)” 6:58:28 PM 10/06/09 “lol, the C.O's wife has headed for the the hills of WI. And the rear detachment is useless. I get most of my advice/help from Operation Homefront forums, after sifting through the drama. I don't really think they're problems, just having to pay for our dental care now. Not a big deal. Birch will be home and back at his civilian job (God willing) soon after we're due for our next apt. We'll just wait a month or two next time so insurance can cover it (next time is xrays...eeek!). But, I just don't think people have a realistic idea of exactly what military families get from the job. The benefits sound fabulous but think about the hours, and the risk, even when not deployed.” 6:59:28 PM 10/06/09 “I guess it's all relative to where you came from. I never saw a dentist until I was in the service and spent a good chunk of boot camp in the chair, so it looked pretty good. That $78 per month plus room (with 80 others) and board (powdered scrambled eggs) still seemed better than my earlier job of working 56 hours a week for $30.00. However, after 5 years, 6 months and 9 days of Navy bull#&%!$ and two years in 'Nam, civilian life had a much better appeal. Two years later, the Coast Guard looked much better than that rock quarry I was working in on the easy days. Right now, though, I'm not complaining. I hope things get better for you and your family. You deserve it.” 7:09:07 PM 10/06/09 “But, I just don't think people have a realistic idea of exactly what military families get from the job. The benefits sound fabulous but think about the hours, and the risk, even when not deployed.†Sassafras 9:59:28 PM 10/06/09 This. You can't compare benefits for military personnel to welfare payments. One you get for placing your life between us and our enemies. The other you get for nothing. Require active civic service for welfare benefits and maybe you can start thinking about making that comparison.” 5:22:19 AM 10/07/09 “Has anti-Wal-Mart t*lty declared Birch to be a War Criminal yet?” 6:07:34 AM 10/07/09 “Tilt is too big of a coward to say what he thinks.” 6:09:10 AM 10/07/09 Why doesn't t*lty HATE Target too? “Target announces 26 new stores and 5,000 new workers. Rebuilding America at $7.25 per hour http://www.thestreet.com/story/10607646/1/target-to-add-26-stores-5000-jobs.html?cm_ven=GOOGLEN” 7:37:15 AM 10/07/09 “Tilty hasn't been banned from Target...plus he loves the fact that they always seem to have little boy's pants "half off"...” 7:45:37 AM 10/07/09 “Tilty has given all of you a non-paying job for even-tiltypooh this tilty that, would someone hand me my tin foil hat?” 7:50:45 AM 10/07/09 “Let's face it. Target is definitely a step up from Sprawlmart...” 7:56:12 AM 10/07/09 “Imagine how differently these retailers would operate with 'Single Payer', the free ride would be on the slide.” 8:02:14 AM 10/07/09 “Rosey has never been in a SuperTarget. LOL” 8:27:01 AM 10/07/09 “Super Target and Super Walmart have a different clientele.” 8:30:08 AM 10/07/09 “ ![]() Fashion tip: Your house arrest ankle bracelet is not an accessory, so you probably don’t want to go all LL Cool J with your sweatpants.” 8:43:14 AM 10/07/09 “They are both Sprawlmarts, chili.” 8:46:27 AM 10/07/09 “I'm talking about what products they offer their customers and the general clientel. Target is mo bettah.” 8:51:13 AM 10/07/09 “Both WalMart & Target suck.” 8:51:56 AM 10/07/09 “Suck compared to what? Freds? Or Dollar General?” 8:56:16 AM 10/07/09 “Personally I feel if you can't find it at Bass Pro Shop or REI...why even think you need it (LOL)” 8:57:58 AM 10/07/09 “It's at least a 200 mile drive to the nearest Bass Pro or REI from here.” 9:01:47 AM 10/07/09 “On that note, Bass Pro Shops is opening up a new store in Memphis...in this building. 9:02:16 AM 10/07/09 “Egypt? cool” 9:03:45 AM 10/07/09 “And what the hell is Freds and Dollar General?” 9:04:47 AM 10/07/09 “LMAO at LZ. Quite obviously you never spent any time in the Mississippi Delta. Dollar General has a store in Sarah, MS (actually in Strayhorn). I don't think it is even on the map.” 9:08:48 AM 10/07/09 “The last time I was south of the Mason Dixon Line was the spring of 1991 and that was to the Outer Banks in NC.” 9:13:54 AM 10/07/09 “I've done a foundation design for a Dollar General in Virginia, so I know they're at least that far north.” 9:15:24 AM 10/07/09 “Well, lz, let's put it this way. Think "walmart" in a 2000 sf building.” 9:17:47 AM 10/07/09 “And I am thinking some of them are closer to a thousand sf.” 9:18:15 AM 10/07/09 “Sounds like what we call Family Dollar up here.” 9:18:45 AM 10/07/09 “Hell, we don't even have 7 Elevens around where I live.” 9:21:42 AM 10/07/09 “Yep, same type place. We have those here too.” 9:22:15 AM 10/07/09 “You got it. Family Dollar, Dollar General and Fred's are about the same. Dollar General also has "Markets" in some locations that are their version of the "SuperStore".” 9:24:40 AM 10/07/09 “The one nice thing with those type of stores is that they are much closer than the bigger box stores.” 9:30:03 AM 10/07/09 “Dollar General is where you shop if you don't feel like dressing up to go to Wal-Mart.” 9:32:38 AM 10/07/09 “ROTFLMAO” 10:32:18 AM 10/07/09 “Hell, we don't even have 7 Elevens around where I live.†lumbering ax murderer 10:21:42 AM Neither do we. We have "Kum & Go". ”11:04:24 AM 10/07/09 “Hahaha, they should put one of those across the road from a Nice N Easy. last edited: 10/07/09 11:06:02 AM” 11:14:06 AM 10/07/09 Jump to Page << prev
