“You're right, Sassafras. My favorite exercise is when we practive throwing attackers from any direction, while seated in a chair. Our instructor likes to do it, while seated on the Mat. It's surprising how much can be done with just one or two hands free.

One excuse for staying in martial arts is that I am becoming more of a target for younger thieves, who can see me limping and using disabled parking locations.

Gemini has had one or both of her boys in MA training, so she is well aware of some of the potential applications of it.

No, the implication is that the legs, feet and body are not free. Perhaps I should have said "One or both hands free?" I suspect that you might find watching a "contact" martial arts class an interesting experience.

once again I was trying to help someone and I got the short end of the stick

I was trying to get a very aggressive cat that had gotten out of the box. I had him but then someone tried to help but it only made it worse :(

needless to say he latched onto my left inner arm with his teeth no his FANGS and did not want to let go. so I had to slam him on the ground so he would let go. it worked but then his nails dug in and scratched the heck out of me. OUCH

so another trip to the ER and two more freakin shots.....

These are the wild kitties living in our old neighborhhod. Two adolescents that we had gotten maybe too attached to. Very happy we could get them snipped and "tipped" for ID

I don't have pictures of the Tom. He was way too pissed of. But he looked just like the black and white except his paws and nose was bloody from trying to bust out. #&%!$er scared the #&%!$ out of us.
