I met Exavius at the Lakes trailhead in Sequoia National Park for a little day hike.
The hike was around 11 miles round trip. With the short days of late Fall we ended up doing the last 3 miles after sunset...we kinda knew that was going to happen. Maybe we stopped for too many photos ? ;)

The colorful Aspens leaves are gone and Winter is taking over.

After a steady uphill climb over "The Hump Trail" we arrive at Heather Lake (4 miles).

After a few photos we have a little lunch.

After lunch...ZZZZZZZZ
Now there is a guy that can sleep anywhere!
LOL!

After lunch we snapped a few more photos and headed up the trail towards Aster and Emerald Lakes.

Alta Peak 11,204' comes into view.

Beautiful pictures WW. I'm headed up to give Mount Silliman a try next Saturday, so now I have an idea of the amount of snow I'll be dealing with (which doesn't look like much).

I'd like to snowshoe out to Pear Lake this winter once the snow comes.

Thanks Kathy...there might be spotty snow on the north side but there was zero on the south side of Silliman.

Snowshoe out to Pear sounds great :)

Nice pics Michael! The one of Heather Lake looks similar to Siesta Lake.
