“I had to get up at 4:30 a.m. on “Black Friday” to take my son to work at Radio Shack by 5:00 (he lost his drivers license for 3 DUIs and he’s still 17). The Wal Mart across the street had a Friday evening-sized crowd by 5:00. Wife & I came back to Radio Shack at 6:00 when they opened to get a few things the boy wanted. There had been about a hundred people in there before us scarfing up all the good deals. So we grabbed a few things for him and an 11” digital picture frame, but as I suspected, the store was full of people who got up too early to pay regular price for a bunch of stuff.

I don’t get the Black Friday thing at all. It’s just another con job to get people to spend money they wouldn’t spend if they were thinking rationally. After a nice breakfast with my wife (my favorite meal to eat out), I came home read some TT to get me back to rational thinking. You guys inspired be to go for a hike.

I went to a local rail-to-trail and stretched my legs, fueled by turkey, dressing, gravy, and pumpkin pie. I little way into the walk I snuck up on one of the biggest gobblers I’ve seen in the woods about 20’ away. Ran across 3 hens a little later.

After 8 miles I came home, had some leftovers, nodded off in the big chair watching football. Sure glad I didn’t spend the day shopping!”
