“Not all religion is static.
Not all religion is predictible.
Not all religion is full of rules.
Not all religion is not cool.
Not all religion hinders your relationship with your Creator.

Some religion is dynamic.
Some religion is unpredictible.
Some religion rejects too many rules.
Some religion is cool.
Some religion enhances your relationship with your Creator.”

True. Very true.

When the difference between an exception and what is the rule is made in good faith, corruption in all forms will dissipate. Stop having so many silly rules that are unenforceable and infact reward the violators. Any group of people will become corrupt no matter what their common goal and intent, it is the human nature to tsst the parameters of any situation. Ethnic cleansing is many times the result of long term corruption being purged.

While out sailing on the ocean
While out sailing on the sea
I bumped into the Savior
And He said pardon me
I said "Jesus you look tired"
He said "Jesus so do you,
Sit down son
'Cause I got some fat to chew"

Chorus:
Everybody needs somebody that they can talk to
Someone to open up their ears
And let that trouble through
Now you don't have to sympathize
Or care what they may do
But everybody needs somebody that they can talk to

Well he spoke to me of morality
Starvation, pain and sin
Matter of fact the whole dang time
I only got a few words in
But I won't squawk
Let 'em talk
Hell it's been a long long time
And any friend that's been turned down
Is bound to be a friend of mine

(Repeat chorus)

Now we sat there for an hour or two
Just eatin' that Gospel pie
When around the bend come a terrible wind
And lightning lit the sky
He said so long son I gotta run
Appreciate you listening to me
And I believe I heard him sing these words
As he skipped out across the sea

(Repeat chorus)

Perhaps it is the atheists who merely "go along to get along".

Good question salebored.

The thing is that in Israel the religious minority have been the swing block between the right wing and the left wing of Israeli politics so they have gained disproportianate power. Less Orthodox jews - those known mostly as "Reform" and "Conservative" jews have for most of Israel's history been more marginalized than in the US. For example a reform or conservative rabbi in the US can officiate at a funeral at any government cemetary and can perform a legally recognized marriage. This has not been true in Israel. Israeli's have basically had to choose between being extremely orthodox or being secular.

Reform and conservative jews have struggled to make in roads and get more government acceptance, but the Orthodox have a near monopoly on governement sanctioned religion including deciding who legally is a jew.

My ex-wife was Israeli. Her father was buried as an Israeli hero in the equivalent of Arlington National Cemetary. Despite the fact that no one in his family was Orthodox, Orthodox officials had to be paid to preside over the services. They treated the family with contempt, handling them aggressively as they made sure to cut their garments accoring to their interpretation of the Bible. Anyhow - there is no comparison with Oregon. The divide between the religious and the non-religious is huge in Israel whereas there are all kinds of shades of gray in the Oregon and some of those religious are pagan, moslem, hindu, jewish, etc and the formal grasp over power by the religious is so much stronger in Israel.

Compare the RELIGIONS (versus the freedom)

I believe you will find the "pushing of religion" is much less overt in say Georgia, compared to say Conn. Meaning the difference of the jihad of "humanisim" in some states that overshadows the Christian religions in the South.

Mutt...racisim is the identification of one race being superior to another. Bigotry is the term you are looking for...(LOL)

Then again aren't the libbies by their very demand that we give "preferential treatment" to minorities saying they are too incapable of accomplishing it on their own that we MUST HELP THEM?

WOW Libbies are actually Racists.

XL, wouldn't that only be true if we were talking about just one group? People that need assistance, or as you call it, "preferential treatment", belong to many ethnic groups. Perhaps you're just talking about class...once again.

America is growing up! More and more Americans are choosing not to believe in christian fictionalities.

More Americans say they have no religion

By RACHEL ZOLL – 8 hours ago

A wide-ranging study on American religious life found that the Roman Catholic population has been shifting out o of the Northeast to the Southwest, the percentage of Christians in the nation has declined and more people say they have no religion at all.

[...]

Fifteen percent of respondents said they had no religion, an increase from 14.2 percent in 2001 and 8.2 percent in 1990, according to the American Religious Identification Survey.

(This is another good reason the GOP should ditch the ignorance-embracing religious right if conservatism wants to stay relevant.)
