Come on V, there’s a deferment joke in there somewhere. And who the hell would consider Bush a peer? Deputy Dog?

Chances are slim to none that he will be seated in a trial.

Reminds me of the joke; Who wants to be tried by a jury of their peers who are too dumb to get out of jury duty?

Most people do Ped... I even read about John Kerry serving recently.

Bush will duck out on this civic obligation, just like he did with the National Guard.

ped, I bet you smiled a little bit. And you're correct it is a duty. I've gone every time I've been called.
The first time I was called they wanted me to be there every day for a month. I was there, but, IMHO, it was too much to ask of any citizen. Now, you only have to show up for one day unless you get assigned to a trail. MUCH easied to do your duty.

"Who wants to be tried by a jury of their peers who are too dumb to get out of jury duty?” - me, depends if I'm guilty or innocent. I'd much prefer dumb and easily influenced by a good lawyer!

Bush should report for jury duty. His image needs all the help it can get right now. Blowing it off sends the wrong message no matter who you are.

Navi - I was most amused by your joke. I'll try not to tell it to the court officers when I show up for jury duty.

That might be a good idea.

I got sent home without serving on a jury, thanks to the fact that I wrote Navi's joke in on the "anything we should know that might affect your ability to make an objective decision as a juror: space.

j/k I spent a fine day in Jury duty yesterday. I was even in a court room for a jury selection and my number almost got called. If 3 more jurors had been rejected, I would have been seated. As it was, I got to go home in time to shovel my sidewalk before it got dark.

Thank goodness for the one day, one trial, rule!
