“It's one of those few times I am glad to be inside.

Mid Thirties and rain in the mountains today. My least favorite weather.

I haven't checked the weather for the upper elevations but suspect there might be some snow up there.”

No bugs, no snakes, no people. Dress smart and guy out tight.”

“30-40 mph winds, gusts to 50. clean the garage and listen to the Railroad.”

I got yer tropics! 72 and not a cloud. I hiked 4 miles today. Yippee!!!”

“No snow. Now up to about 40, mid 30's up higher, and a cold, cold rain.”

“30 was the high here today. Most of the day was 22-26°. Birch spent from 7am to 5pm racing through the woods on bike and foot and kayaking in the Flint River. He stayed warm and thinks he placed about 4th or 5th of solo males. Took alot of pretty specialized gear. He forgot his goretex socks for the kayaking portion so stopped at a gas station and bought four lawn and leaf bags to go under his shoes/over his socks. He stayed dry! I'm not sure if I think he's crazy or if I'm jealous that he got to have all the fun today. =)”

“I'm backpacking next weekend.
This weekend is a much needed work around the house and rest some weekend.”

“There was light sleet here in the foothills about 12:30 today at 40 degrees.

Light rain now at 32 degrees.”

“MDS and I were going to take our daughters on a hike this weekend, but backpacking with kids in the rain is our idea of fun. My daughter was disappointed but understood that getting wet and then not being able to do anything but lie in the tent and wait for morning to hike out, in the rain, wouldn't be any fun.”

“I had to wrap up the old apartment today and tomorrow. Just as well, our mtns got about 3 feet of snow over the past few days and the avalanche danger is HIGH all over the mtns.

Maybe the snowpack will settle some over the next few days and I can get out next weekend.”
