Where would you live?..... “If you could live anywhere in the United States, Where would it be?” 5:31:23 PM 12/05/05 oops..... I forgot....... “......And Why?” 5:34:43 PM 12/05/05 “Au Clari Wis. Ely Minn. Knoxville, Tenn. Marquette, Mich. Ludington, Mich. Pretty much anywhere but Ohio.” 5:35:06 PM 12/05/05 “Welcome newbie, we already have a thread for this... Denver btw. You know what's great about that? I already live there :)” 5:36:02 PM 12/05/05 “I think about this often, gotta be the northwoods. I have family in the Eau Claire area of Wis, got to be water and seasonal changes including winter...its in my blood.” 5:37:15 PM 12/05/05 “Nigal - just curious, but why Eau Claire?” 5:53:46 PM 12/05/05 “Mimi lake is sorta near the Eau Claire area, best trout fishing I have ever seen!” 6:18:46 PM 12/05/05 “Okay, but to me it's such a big city, lol. I'd rather live the 100 miles further north and drive to a mall when I need one.” 6:30:37 PM 12/05/05 “not the town for me, rather the region.” 6:37:17 PM 12/05/05 ““Nigal - just curious, but why Eau Claire?” It was pretty nice when I went through on my way to BWCA. Big ugly city? Really?” 6:57:03 PM 12/05/05 “Moab, Utah; but I won't because it gets to cold. So it will probably be Arizona in a few years. Why? Cause I love the red rock and desert environment. And because I hate hurricanes!!!!” 7:13:18 PM 12/05/05 “Oh, I'd live in Utah for sure.” 7:14:53 PM 12/05/05 “Somewhere in/near the mountains.” 7:22:45 PM 12/05/05 “Nigal/Birch - It's all relative. I think Eau Claire is around 80,000 so it's big when compared to the town of 2200 that I'm 20 miles north of. Ely is a nice town although it's gotten a little preppy in the past 10 years. I've got family up there and it really used to a bar fightin' little burg back in the late 50's/60's. Ely would be great because the BWCA is right there and the Superior Hiking Trail is just around the corner.” 7:29:03 PM 12/05/05 “Aspen or Boulder, CO Truckee, CA Chatanooga, TN and Yuba City, CA (okay, I put that in there becuase I'm trying to see the cup 1/2 full)” 10:13:11 PM 12/05/05 “Ely? Why would you want to live there... 2 years was enough for me...” 11:19:51 PM 12/05/05 “simer, you all done with college and in the "real world?" Where, if so? gotta keep tabs on ya, lol” 5:33:35 AM 12/06/05 “Half way between the Catskills and the Daks in NY, or in CO.” 6:34:51 AM 12/06/05 “Colorado, that way I don't have to fly out ever year from Indy to backpack” 11:06:39 AM 12/06/05 “Lizs- I'm done with college and in the "real world" if that's what you want to call it... Right now I'm unemployed and going home for the holidays for about 6 weeks until my job starts up again. I work nights for a program called project common ground, and I'm a ropes course facilitator during the day, which is really slow this time of year and the reason that I'm unemployed for now.” 12:04:29 PM 12/06/05 “Hey Bison, have you ever hiked with Debra from the other side , I thank she lived on the north side of Denver” 12:13:14 PM 12/06/05 “Half way between the Catskills and the Daks in NY” BackSlacker sorry BS, we're not renting any rooms at the moment.” 12:16:22 PM 12/06/05 “Cody, WY...because it's where i live. It has everthing to offer that I like. Hiking, fishing, hunting, golfing. All within a few minutes, to less than 1 hours drive from my front door. Saturday I will drive 45 miles and hike 30 minutes to the area I hunt elk. With any luck, I'll be back to town before 9:00 am.” 1:27:15 PM 12/06/05 “right where i'm at...Indianapolis Indiana and here's why: Indy ranks No. 1 for affordable housing 90% of homes sold this summer were affordable to families earning median income of $64,000 By Erika D. Smith erika.smith@indystar.com Indianapolis might not have the swanky shops of Beverly Hills or the mountain peaks of Denver. But it has something no other city can claim: the most affordable housing of any big city in the nation. When it comes to low housing prices in cities with more than 500,000 people, Indianapolis is No. 1, according to a report issued Thursday by the National Association of Home Builders. "The shock is if you come to Indianapolis from San Francisco, you can't imagine the kind of buying power you'd have," Litten said. "Conversely, if you go from Indianapolis to San Francisco, you're in for a shock." Indeed, at the other end of the affordability spectrum, there's California. In those three months, the California megalopolis of Los Angeles-Long Beach-Glendale sold homes that were affordable to 2.4 percent of the population. The median income there was $54,500, while the median home price was $495,000. if not here then probably somewhere in the pacific north west” 1:39:53 PM 12/06/05 “Maine. Probably a different town than I live in now, definately smaller and I want to own more land.” 1:45:40 PM 12/06/05 “Had it with the big city, huh?” 1:51:14 PM 12/06/05 “yes - it's too damn crowded here...” 1:51:41 PM 12/06/05 “well, i love Denver right now, but I may want to eventually move up in the mountains a little more. Or maybe Durango.” 1:53:35 PM 12/06/05 “I'd like to buy 160 acres or so in South Tennessee. Very pretty with lots of rolling hills and such. Put me a concrete pillbox on top of a hill disguised as a cabin, with lots of Claymores hidden in the woods surrounding it and do my Randy Weaver impersonation.” 1:56:16 PM 12/06/05 “Auburn, Al or Asheville, NC.” 1:56:21 PM 12/06/05 Here Ya Go, BIT 1:59:42 PM 12/06/05 “Higher ground.” 1:59:50 PM 12/06/05 “Burt is an optimist.” 2:02:49 PM 12/06/05 “LOL @ SS” 2:08:01 PM 12/06/05 “Burt believes in gun control.” 2:10:11 PM 12/06/05 Ah Perfection!! “http://slacktivist.typepad.com/slacktivist/2004/09/burt_gummer_spe.html Burt Gummer speaks "Anti-gay crusaders broke into the wrong goddam rec room." last edited: 12/06/05 2:14:51 PM” 2:11:58 PM 12/06/05 “God is pointing me to Boise.” 5:45:34 PM 12/06/05 “id live in trolltown” 5:48:29 PM 12/06/05 Catskills “I wanted to (& have) lived in the catskill mountains (@ 1700')most of my life. I'm 20-30 mins from Slide Mt & 2- 2 1/2 (straight up thruway/northway) to my brother-in-law who lives in the Adirondack Park. My wife wants to live in Hawaii since we have a ton of relatives there (her 8th trip this coming spring) but the grandkids are all here. (so she's stuck)” 6:53:03 PM 12/06/05 “sorry BS, we're not renting any rooms at the moment.”sacco 1:16:22 PM 12/06/05 LOL, Make room Sacco, I'm comming up!” 7:02:15 PM 12/06/05 “Anywhere with Mountains, Streams, and lots of trees. In other words anywhere except the places I have lived. I like Maine, Colorado, Washington, and Alaska. So any of the Above” 3:14:51 AM 12/07/05
